Pre Vizsla (RM: Captain Argyus) Cost 29
HP 90 DEF 18 ATK +12 DAM 10
Special Abilities Unique. Death Watch Flight; Twin Attack Darksaber [+20 Damage against adjacent enemies; this counts as a melee attack with a lightsaber] Gregarious [+4 Attack if an ally is within 6 squares] Parry [When hit by a melee attack, this character takes no damage with a save of 11] Rapport [A character whose name contains Death Watch costs 1 less when in the same squad as this character]
Commander Effect Death Watch followers gain Self Destruct 20 [When this character is defeated, each adjacent character takes 20 damage]. Once per turn, each follower within 6 squares may reroll 1 attack. If the result of the rerolled attack is a miss, the attacking character is defeated. Thats awesome... he makes the deathwatch raider playable... by removing the threat of having it swap sides for having it self destruct instead.

I think he's great. The stats accurately capture a pretty challenging character while also providing something useful to the Mando faction. I'm glad they didn't give him Jedi Hunter (as I've seen on some customs) -- if anything, he should have Mando Hunter! :)
The only think I don't like is that the Darksaber does 30 damage... making it better than a lightsaber!

Is it wrong for me to laugh the wrong and right of him based on my custom? Off on cost, close on ds. Close on ce
Created Fanatical Devotion as I thought Internal Strife wouldn't work with SD 20.
But, i got the SD 20 correct in the wrong direction.
I wouldn't have thought of: Parry Gregarious
Created: Dark Saber but similar to Blaster 20 complete with attack bonus but made sure it counted as lightsaber. Fanatical Devotions to keep the character from switching sides
Wrong about: Affinity for Seps. I thought it would be cool to bring in some other living CIS pieces. Granted, he wasn't fully a Sep. Missiles 20 They were fond of missiles Ambush: Would have gone with the... Double Attack: Twin just is so overused so i went with the Ambush combo.
Right: Flight: Duh Rapport Death Watch: Double Duh
Stats: Cost: Way off. Didn't expect him to be that cheap. Precedent for Mando Uniques is that they are high. HP: 100 was off by 10 on the high side Def 19: off by 1 on the high side Attack: 12 nailed it but i guess that's stock baseline Damage 10. most mando uniques are 20 so i hedged a bit.
CE: Completely off but, the funny thing, is I was fully thinking this entire concept. It was funny. I actually typed this as the CE (both parts but still unsure of the SD and IS interaction) but it was on there for a small amount of time. I went back and rethought the interaction and created the new ability.
Just thought it was odd. But, I guess if I typed enough i would stumble upon Shakespeare.

In anticipation of more Death Watch, I bought a Lego Mando Battle Pack. Just need a base to put them on now...

This Pre Vizsla piece really hypes me up for the Mandalorians in two ways. First for the Minis, and Second for the 4th season of The Clone Wars. I really like how he is captured for the game, very interesting piece to play, and certainly great for the Mandalorians. I look forward to some Death Watch Bomb Squads, and using the DW Raider for once hehe. Sithborg wrote:In anticipation of more Death Watch, I bought a Lego Mando Battle Pack. (they're like 9 and 11) Couldn't resist the Mandalorian Legos haha.

actually the ironic part is that a Deathwatch death squad works well with jaster (except his reinforements, but you could bring in a captain with them.) they are killed , get a death shot and blow up. if they betray durring that, not only can you re-roll with his commander effect but if they still roll a 1 again they can switch sides and then blow up giving you the points. booya

Has anyone listened to SHNN tonight? This is my scribe of the previewed character - sorry if it's not 100% accurate:
The Huntress Set number: 11 Sith Unique: Counts as Darth Cognus Cost: 38 HP: 80 Defence: 18 Attack: 11 Damage: 10
Special Abilities: GMA, Twin, Evade, Parry, Poisoned Blade 10 Exploding Pistols: replaces turn, usable only once per skirmish, sight, choose two target enemies, or the same enemy twice. The target and each character adjacent to the enemy take 20 damage and are activated, save 11. Repeat for the second target. For the remainder of the skirmish, this character has melee attack.
Force Powers: Force Points: 3 Force Supression: Force 2, replaces attacks, for rest of skirmish gains this Force Ability: each enemy character within 6 squares spends one extra force point every time they spend force points.

Force Supression is cool, however, i do see it as a problem for the republic faction since they have no force Battery. Palps on Thrown and Yoda of dagoba should be just fine against this new force ability though.
And since Force supression is a Force Ability, it can be canceled by attacking or making her make a save right?

I believe the "for the rest of the skirmish" Force abilities (like this one) are NOT cancelled by damage or a forced save.

I doubt most people would march a jedi up to her either. maybe the new Mace tho.. haha.
Shoot her down and its no problem really. No evade, or deflect.

She does have evade, she is like a much better version of jarael.

That is correct, those that grant Force Abilities for the rest of the skirimish act a lot like Force Valor and Battle Meditation. Those Force Abilties are kind of like a CE, in that they don't go away.

Woo! I got's me a Huntress. I knew I wasn't wasting my time on my custom! Now, I can actually use her.
My concern is with Exploding Pistols. Although a nifty trick, it just seems to be a bit longer distance than it should be. Range 6 (established throwing distance) might be more accurate.

OMG I LOVE this character! It is a GREAT representation. It looks exactly like the custom I made for it a while back. Got the EXACT same stats, points etc... the only difference is the Exploding blasters, which are great for taking out enemy commanders. She is also really synergetic, working well with Czerka, black Sun, and high costed sith. all in all a great character. rating 9.5

People don't seem to like Death Watch raiders nearly enough. I think they are great peices to begin with. You have built in mobile attack and they have 20 base dmg with cunning. I don't see whats the big deal people make about Internal strife. I love that ability. I had a game where I used my DWR to shoot first, he rolled a 1, i killed the Traitor (or as Pre Vizsla would say: "Failure" ) and got 15pts. So, I don't get what people say about them. A solid peice for the stats if you as me. Now they are even better!
