Perhaps he'd gain something else in addition to Pilot (though they didn't say he'd necessarily be playable - just boosted), but certainly him lacking Pilot was certainly one of, if not the largest complaint of UH.

You know, Pilot and one other decent SA would make him pretty solid. His stats for 17 points aren't terrible... he just doesnt DO anything. If he could get pilot and disruptive or something like that, i think he'd be worth playing.

The question is, "Why bring a Lando to boost Nien when you can make a better one?" Nien wasn't great when he came out. He had nothing but Unique. It was as if the proof card got out before the piece was fleshed out. If Lando comes out, then he should boost a new Nien. I mean how many Uniques have nothing to offer but their name (ie: CEs, SAs,or Force)?

I'm largely happy to replace older, obsolete pieces, and largely agree with you, but it is tough on the designers when there are other opinions like: Quote:Grievous JH is bad? What? Yeah, he isn't the greatest unit but he had potential. Quad, twin with maybe a new commander that would let him get greater mobile and/or momentum? Back in business without batting an eye!!! But not anymore, now we have something 100% better, so he is permanently shoeboxed. What I am getting at is there is no mini beyond saving yet it seems some are considered that way. When you bury a mini forever in the box it is not a good thing in any game. It seems like it's difficult to please everyone! He is a different case than Grievous though; a playable fighting Grievous is a great idea, while Nien Numb probably deserves to be a gimmicky/marginally useful piece that sees occasional gametime.

Keep in mind, playable doesn't necessarily mean top tier. A new Nien Nunb is always possible, but I would guess it is fairly low priority for a lot of the designers.

Trust me. I am more in the "Try to boost the old when you can." This is more for the iconic pieces that have some significance. But, Nien has nothing. Just a unique with a name. At 17 points, he is far more useful as a reboot. I mean a piece that grants "Pilot" like Light Tutor grants FPs wouldn't help because it would automatically go to someone better. If you grant Camaraderie for Nien Numb, then you are spending points to boost a 17 pt piece. Don't get me wrong. I am sure the design team has enough vision to not create such a niche piece for a even more narrow niche piece.

Anakin Skywalker, Slave: Faction: Fringe Cost: 12 HP: 30 Def: 14 Attk: +0 Damage: 10
Unique Melee Attack Repair 20 Industrial Repair 30 Emergency Maintenance (Adjacent Droid allies gain Avoid Defeat)
FP 2 I don't think they should ever make a piece with the word "Slave." Just my opinion.

Yeah, I didn't really like that SA name. I would have gone with a different name (I don't know what).

To be fair, my idea is representative of Anakin while he was owned by Watto, so Slave makes for an appropriate subtitle. Anakin Skywalker, Indentured Servant just doesn't sound right, and I'd cringe at calling him Ani. As for the various comments about how his healing capabilities are a bit strong, I feel that with the overall powercreep in the game, it's not worth using a healer unless they are either dirt cheap or can heal 20+ damage. Otherwise, it's just better to put in another offensive unit than a healer. Sure, he obsoletes Gha a bit, but people only really used him when they had enough droids to effectively make him 6 points or less.

I will add Mandalorian Technician & Dathomir Witch to the list.
