Quote:I was holding off before committing to either Ohio or Delaware those 2 weeks. (20th and 27th) Unfortunately, I can't make either. I have family commitments on the 27th, and while I have most of the day free on the 20th, I do have plans in the evening that will keep me home. I love being married, (30 years this past May) but it does cost me regionals every year lol. Sorry you can't make it, but I certainly understand. Thanks for letting us know!

Epic Followers Teaser
Jak has mentioned that editor and I have been working on our own custom Epic characters that will be showcased on Sunday July 21st in the 500 point Epic battle. We call them Epic Followers. The 6 Epic Followers we have ready are the 6 bounty hunters from The Empire Strikes Back: Bossk, Dengar, Zuckuss, 4-LOM, IG-88 and Boba Fett.
We are still determining if everyone that plays in the tourney on Saturday will get a set of these cards, or just the winners.
Here's a teaser for IG-88 Epic Follower:
Cost: 68 Hit Points: ?? Defense: ?? Attack: ?? Damage: 20
SA's: Droid Bounty Hunter +?? Termination (+4 attack against living unique enemies) ??? ??? ??? ??? AP Pulse Cannon ?? (special Mod here - the cannon ignores cover) Epic Follower SA - Spirit of the Ability Epic Followers are indoctrinated (not requiring constant direction), thus gaining a CE without being limited by range or the continued existence of that commander. This is why the chosen CE becomes an inherent Special Ability.

Unfortunately, and after much rumination, I will not be able to make it this year. I was trying to fit this into my schedule but with so much wedding planning needing to be done by me and fiance, combined with other activities like Gencon it just isnt feasible for me to make it out for the weekend.
Hope everyone else has a fun time and I'm going to miss seeing you guys.

Man this is killing me to not be able to commit totally to this. I would say you could move the probability of me coming up to about 85% though. Next week is going to be an insane week if I do this but I think I can make it work.
That being said I have a couple questions. First, would I have a place to crash Friday and Saturday night? Second, I know what I would need to bring for a 200 point Regional tournament but what other formats should I be putting stuff together for? I don't have a big mini's case and would need to put stuff together beforehand.
Thanks!

Right now it looks like I'm 50/50 to make it in Friday but will definitely be requesting landing clearance for Saturday night at House MacEwen. That's great news to see the roster shape up, keep'em coming! Calling all cars, calling all cars... MI, IN, TN and WNY crews where are you?

Thanks! All are welcome to crash at my place. We're gonna do an Epic format with never seen before Epic Bounty Hunters on Sunday and a scenario with 3-d terrain on Tattooine, if time permits

The Epic followers look really cool, not sure how long I would be able to hang around on Sunday before the return trip. If I can participate in that what would I need to bring? Also would I need any minis for Friday night festivities?

Thanks for the compliment. According to Jak's rules on the 500 Epic Follower battle on Sunday. Fringe only, 13 activations. Cost for Epic Follows (pretty solid, but may change +/- 1 or 2 points.) 4-LOM - 54 Boba - 92 (EDIT was originally 88 but we made a change) Bossk - 61 Dengar - 61 IG-88 - 68 Zuckuss - 57 At this time, (and we can openly discuss this now) I would say we'll limit 2 or 3 Epic Followers per squad. So if you have 3 EF's and they cost the most (92 + 68 + 61 = 221), you'd have 279 points to work with for your remaining 10 fringe characters. Big thing to keep in mind with all Epic Followers, they have the Epic Follow SA which gives them the ability to take one CE from their squad, and make that CE a SA for all epic followers in your squad. It works very similar to the Vongs War Coordinator but only works on the EF's.

Very cool. If I indeed can make the trip I may have to stick around for this and deal with a late return.
Fringe only sounds very interesting. I will have to start putting some ideas together.

I'm currently looking into whether or not I'll be able to stop in at this event on my way to Tosche Station to pick up some power converters. It would be helpful if I knew the start-and-end times:
Friday: whenever you arrive Sunday: when does the tournament start, when does it end (approximately)
Also, I'd like some clarification on the Epic event, since it seems new and different: -Fringe (no other factions allowed) -500pts -13 activations (not 16) -HOW MANY COMMANDER EFFECTS ALLOWED? -Reinforcements cannot increase the activations above 13, but Reserves can -up to 2 or 3 Epic Followers per squad

Start times: Friday - I'll leave that to JakSaturday - Noon for registration, first game @ 1:00pm Sunday - Noon for registration, play as soon as everyone's set to go (by 1:00pm if not earlier). Epic Event: # of CE's allowed and question on reinforcements and reserves? - Again I defer to Jak.

What? I'll be honest - I have no idea what is going on with this whole thing on Sunday. Can we start from the beginning and explain it all. It sounds like it will be very tricky to prepare for. How do we bring a squad that we will then add 2-3 new figures of varying costs that we've never played with before? I'm all for flying by the seat of my pants for a for-fun format, but we have to at least know what to bring. Specifically.
