I think Darth Maul looks so great. When I first looked at him I thought wow he is overpowered. But now I see he is really balanced. He has great offensive capabilities and also some great defensive one. But he is limited by his force points and his high costing force powers. Good balance.

When I first saw him I thought oh, he is just gonna get shot to death, but then I noticed force cloak. BUT it halves the FPs. Interesting decision making to be done when using this mini.

Patience, young Padawan. All will be revealed in the end. It is certain that everyone will enjoy the stats, including tweaks we made up until the final day of work on the stats.

I like this Maul a lot. The force cloaked will help him stay alive longer against shooters. Its also in harmony with the book about Maul. HE
Was extremely elusive using the force to hide himself. Awesome!!

I know they're revealing the set list and recommended minis for BoT this Thursday, don't think they're going to spoil all the pieces though right in one night...

I was going to post some more stats, but I don't want to post links to the cards themselves. Sorry.

I will post a picture when all the cards arrive. :)

I thought I had read somewhere that there were now 12 characters in this mini set, has it been changed back to 10 characters?

I just now listened to the recording and was wondering the same thing. Confused

Also, changes to Darth Maul, Sith Infiltrator:

cost upped to 57 points, and added Affinity to Sith faction

When we talked to the printer, he said we could add 2 extra cards, due to the printing layout, at no increase in cost. So we considered adding 2 more cards to BoT to make it a 12 piece set.. But after much debate, playtesting and arguing, we decided that we couldn't add in anything, becuase it was too late to do proper playtesting to see how the additional figures would affect the rest of the game. We did something else with the 'extra' two card slot that you'll find out about later!

Thanks Ruhk, probably a wise choice, and now we have something else to wonder about!

edit:
I was also surprised that the CS Destroyer was used as RM for the Droideka. I figured it would be the RotS model, since CS was used for the Series-II. This makes me think we may be getting more Destroyers in the future Drool

We originally did want the RotS DD as the recommended mini but some communication got twisted and when we realized it was placed as the CS DD it was too late to change.

The Sith Affinity is an unfortunate change. The set loses a Sep piece, but gains a Sith pieces, as there is no reason to use him in a Sep squad over a Sith.

I completely agree. There is still no reason to play living Seps. We need a good Sidious. Something like this
Darth Sidious, Scourge of the Jedi
or this
Darth Sidious, Separatist Puppet Master
or a Separatist Sidious Hologram

I wouldn't say "no" reason. I can't see how San Hill, Maul, MTB isn't going to be a very powerful combo, and you can pretty much pair it with any/every thing you want as a Sep. But the real addition to your comment should be the word "yet". There were two problems with Maul as a Sep at 52. Sure, he was balanced within a faction that has very little (although as I mentioned at least some) decent support right now. But anything we add to help living Seps in the future (something we've said we want to do, and the new Dooku is at least one small part of that), has to consider their new uber beat. His cost had to be higher than 52, because he's just that much better than anything else within the faction. Adding Sith Affinity was a compromise to raise the cost to 57. Some of us would have costed Maul at 60, some liked 54. We chose a middle ground and added the affinity, recognizing that right now, with the game as is, Maul is better as a Sith. But rest assured, over time we will offer help to living Seps, as well as more pieces like the new Dooku and Whorm that can bridge the gap between the two parts of the faction.
