I agree. He's a great piece.

Having playtested against him (vs Dimetrodon), I can attest that he's a beast to deal with... maybe a little too much of a beast for the cost! But the Old Rep got Bastila, so can I really begrudge the Mando fans? :)

Also, Cassus will let those lucky enough to have the promo Mando Trooper to use him without customizing.

More or less hehe.

I still want to do one for him anyway. I've been trying to figure out how exactly to go about it. And in fact you might have influenced some of it for me. Time will tell BigGrin

I did one but the epoxy, two months after creation, still hasn't dried. Too little of the blue, I guess.

Looks exactly like what you envision while reading this character's wookieepedia entry.

While I liked Levitation for the OR, I have to say Force Leap fits this character design a lot better. Can't wait to give this guy a try now.

I agree, Dime. I think it's a nice change that makes him more of the dedicated beatstick the OR can use. Maybe I'll trot him out tonight if I play Old Rep. :P

I like Master Vandar a lot, my only gripe is JMT. I think this force power is over used in OR these days. However other than that master Vandar is a welcome addition to the faction. ThumpUp

Overused for the Old Rep? He's only the third OR piece with JMT (not counting Kavar, with JMT3). All of the light side factions have at least 2 helpings of JMT, so this puts the OR only slightly ahead of the curve (and doesn't account for gains other factions might be getting in Vengeance).

Still, the OR DOES have the only non-Unique with it, so I suppose they can field more of it.

Yeah, we've definitely given it out to OR more than other factions recently, but part of that has just been flavor for the faction. They don't have any kind of tempo control, so they get the ability to activate your pieces, the same way Sith do with Sith Sorcery. I wouldn't be surprised if the rate that we give out JMT slows a little bit, but it's definitely been intentional to give the OR a strong dose of it.

Otherwise, glad you like Vandar. Smile

I'm somewhat shocked at his lack of CE, though I suppose force suppression fills that niche to an extent. I like.

I wonder if this set is going to be mostly eu this set. So far jek is the only non eu piece... Interesting

It follows roughly the same pattern as our first 2 sets. But Cantina Brawl is all from Episode 4.

And set 4, currently under production, is a more movie based set.

I'm not one of those purists... nor am I an EU junky... I was just curious. I guess that makes sense too... what, with the posts about new versions of the OT main cast getting make overs and what not.

Personally, there is no distinction in my mind as to eu vs the movies. To me, star wars is star wars and i love all of it! Just happy to see cool new pieces being made by designers who are doing a great job of keeping the game alive and fresh and fun for all ThumpUp BlooMilk
