Pieces I would like to see in V8...

Tulkh, the Whiphid Bounty Hunter from Red Harvest

Either an Emperors Clone that lets you bring in a Luke into Imps to use with him, or a Luke which is Imps faction (Luke Skywalker, Emperors Apprentice. Something of that nature.

I would love a Sith Vader, we have a Bastilla that is Sith, we have Seps Darth Maul even though he was never a Sep, he was exclusively a Sith. We can argue this all day, but Vader was more of a Sith than Bastilla and he was one for a longer amount of time, so Vader Sith!

a new Plagueis would be awesome. We've had an entire book written about him, so it's time for an update. Would love to see him with an ability called Master Tactics Broker, where the sacrificing a piece to win init was optional.

a new Malak with Star Forge Reinforcements would be great. But then you would have to include like a Star Forge Droid in as well.

Ben Skywalker is a big one on my list. After the Fate of The Jedi series, it's time... The first Vset Ben did nothing for those of us wanting Ben, he was a decent representation of Ben from the Legacy series, but during FoTJ he trains with his father, the Grandmaster and travels the galaxy with him. It's time for an update. Ben is a favorite character of mine from all of the Expanded Universe.

Set Harth from the Dynasty of Evil book he was an awesome character

Captain Nico Okarr, he is the smuggler in the "Return" trailer for the Old Republic, he's the smuggler that's like a mix of Cad Bane and Han Solo, and every bit as awesome as that combo sounds.

Father, Son, Daughter, or Abeloth/Mother from the Mortis story arc would be awesome.

The Old Republic Emperor

some more bounty hunters to go with the Bounty Hunter subfaction, Dengar, Bossk, 4LOM, Zuckuss

You can be really creative with Ben/Vestara interactions beyond just Synergy or Camaraderie.

A Wookiee that throws an enemy.

Throw Enemy [Replaces attacks: touch; 30 damage; place lower-cost enemy without a force rating in any square within 4 squares of this character, save 16]

Levitation #
We've had Levitation 1 since IE. Rob even named it to be variable.

What's the hold up? C'mon already!
I don't care how much Force it costs, I wanna throw a Rancor at someone. Razz

Seriously though, I can see it would be hard to balance. Perhaps keep it small or medium but greater range, or multiple pieces. And on a much higher cost piece than what we have now.

You'll think of something. Wink

Also, a bump for a sturdier piece with Lift (ASP-7). Totally underrated ability.

Ideas to get it started...

Levitation 2: Force 2, replaces attacks: Move 1 Small or Medium lower-cost character without a Force rating within 6 squares to any unoccupied square within 6 squares. This move does not provoke attacks of opportunity.

Levitation 2: Force 2, replaces attacks: Move 2 Small or Medium allies within 3 squares to any unoccupied squares within 6 squares. This move does not provoke attacks of opportunity.

Levitation 2: Force 2, replaces attacks: Move 1 Small or Medium character within 3 squares to any unoccupied square within 6 squares. This move does not provoke attacks of opportunity.

Levitation 3: Force 3, replaces attacks: Move 1 ally within 6 squares to any unoccupied square within 6 squares. This move does not provoke attacks of opportunity.

Levitation 9: Force 9, replaces attacks: You may pick up the map and place it back down on the table. All characters that fall off the map are defeated.

Afterthought - and maybe Lift 2 or Heavy Lift 2. (2 pieces at once!)

Since that great wookie idea with throw has been brought up. I'd like to bring something up, I believe would be fun.
In the "new hope" when Chewbacca is being escorted on the deathstar to the prison cell, he runs into a mousedroid and he frightens it away with a snarl, growl type action.
It would be fun to have a Chewbacca with a scatter mouse droid abilities or CE for wookies. Anyway something along that line. You super designers can take it further.

Cheers

Boring pattern:
Spin, spin, spin, Outactivate, movement breaker, attack. Init, attack, retreat.

To blunt that pattern:

Watch Your Back [If all characters in your squad are activated, all characters in your squad gain a "boost"]

I'm not sure what sort of boost would be appropriate. +6 Defense? Free re-roll? Damage reduction? Move two squares after taking damage?

Frankly, a shload (technical term) of one-hit wonders that need a better version:
Nym
Guri
Depa Billaba
Even Piell (two versions: one for the Clone Wars universe and one for the Coruscant Knights universe).
Stass Allie
Guri
Dark Side Adept
Dark Side Enforcer (Belia Darzu)
Sith Acolyte
Guri
Deveronian Soldier
Klatooniam Enforcer
And.. I'm missing someone. I know it's there.

Oh... Yeah.
Guri

Another option to make that pattern less powerful.

Patience [If all allies are activated and all opponents have more characters in their squads than you, you may activate 0 characters this phase.]

I've suggested something like this before, but the wording was awkward to deal with characters on both sides that have Patience. I think this is a lot cleaner. It is succinct, and this way only one player at a time can use Patience, and only one character in a squad can use Patience. This allows someone who is outactivated to save one character as the final activation of a round.

Kind of surprised we haven't seen him.
1000+ minis vs. 100+ Kenner action figures. I would have thought all of the Kenner figures would have been made by now.

A bunch of us at gen con were talking about how we NEED a Chancellor Finis Valorum. He could grant aggressive negotiations to 1 or 2 force users. Vote of no confidence- some bonus that has an increasingly difficult save each round to make or the bonus is gone or turns into a negative.
