Oddly, I bought two packs a couple of weeks ago, and I bought two more this week. I hadn't bought boosters outside of my 1 case per set at the release in years. But I'm buying some now again, because I want more custom pieces lol. Might even look into buying some smaller collections from time to time.

ThumbsUp you can get great results making light sabers out of 1/16" acrylic rods.
they can be found on eBay, or cheaper if you Google "acrylic rods for sale".
I color mine with Sharpies.
any color you like, for less than 10 cents per piece.ThumpUp

For a while I was painting Tooth Picks for sabers... But I just started painting paper clips... The clips give a nice mettle hilt.BlooMilk

when you color the acrylic, it remains translucent.
like a "real" light saber.

Nope. Give me a couple of days and I will have my Atris and Sora Bulq posted up here. I just need to do the painting on him and then post.

It's slowed of course but we've months until the next set. I expect more DotF to trickle in until then. I'll probably start a similar thread for RaR in June. Thanks to every-one who has posted their sets here and the rest of you can keep 'em coming. It's not like this will ever close.

This thread was a really good idea and is a great source of inspiration and admiration. So if you are going to be making a Renegades & Rogues thread as well, that would just be super cool.

Thank you.

The tactician was me trying to find a use for the Jedi Crusader's head. And not really liking the Rosie the Riveter head on the Rebel Leader.

Sad thing is, if there is a Bria Tharen, I might have to slaughter another Jedi Crusader.

I am currently working on Vet. Imperial Knights, a Mando Blaster-For-Hire, and another Elite Scout Trooper with another wash. I always like to 4 of any mook mini just for extras in case I lose one. Or for a Squad ability.

Also have a Imperial Knight based on Treis Sinde from the Legacy comics. This is relevant because I believe that this character is what inspired the original Vet. Imperial Knights. He isn't a complicated mini. Just a head swap of Antares Draco and Count Dooku.

That is the great thing about the new sets. I only started customising a few weeks ago and it was mainly due to all the inspiration I found in the many DOTF custom threads. It gave me the confidence to try it out, and now I will never go back!

This thread isn't dead quite yet; I've been pretty busy and have a bunch of new customs.

Exar Kun, Dark Force Spirit
I mixed transparent paint and black paint to make a semi-translucent black, but it doesnt' show up very well in this picture.

The Revanchist

Sith Inquisitor

Sora Bulq 2.0
A major improvement over my original attempt. I used a much better paint, added a shoto, and gave him wrist wrapping and robe coloring that accurately matched his comic-book depictions.

Lt. Page

Niles Ferrier
Yes, he does have a cigarra. ThumpUp

Supreme Overlord Shimrra. OK, here's one of my big projects. I based this custom off a picture on Wookieepedia and a couple of facts: He's bigger than any other vong, his head is huge and covered in tattoos/scars, his arms are skinny, and he wears a robe made from preserved flesh. I tried to have it make sense for him to both be wearing a robe and have Voduun Crab Armor 6.
