Can you have both in a Sith squad? I know they both are Unique but I wasn't sure if the hologram counts as Darth Sidious.

I'm going to say no. I'm pretty sure they are both Uniques that count as Palpatine.

However, a hologram is not living and therefore does not require "presence" (if I may borrow an old CCG term) of the character. So in this case it could work that you can use both. Whether that is how it's ruled is an entirely different matter.

Well, the fact that they each have Darth Sidious in their name should answer the "unique" question. ;)

It would make sense for it to work but since both specifically count as "Palpatine" my guess is no.

Due to the rules regarding the "unique" ability it is not possible under normal play. That said feel free to house rule the hologram as a droid(or Machinery) and give it a whirl.

Actually, neither Darth Sidious, Sith Master or Darth Sidious, Hologram have errata saying that they count as Emperor Palpatine for Unique purposes. I stand corrected. The character profile pages here on bloomilk are evidently in error. Both pages for Darth Sidious, Sith Master and Darth Sidious Hologram include the text "Counts as: Palpatine". Upon checking my Sidious SM card just now though that text does not appear on the card. Does that mean you can use both or is Lord Ball correct that you cannot?

It being a hologram doesn't matter, and the logic in that its a hologram and isn't him doesn't work, because I imagine its difficult to both fight in one area and boss guys around at the same time

Please forgive sarcasm. Just. Couldn't. Help. Myself.

I know they could prerecord things, but I don't think a prerecorded message would be suitable for military command :p I myself prefer commanders whose's presence carries more weight

My take is Palpatine was more of a behind the scenes guy as Sidious. He maneuvered the pieces but didn't micro manage the particulars once the hostilities were under way. He'd give orders (hologram) then get back to his other manipulations, leaving subordinates to execute his instructions At least that is how he is portrayed in the PT. Now it has been stated that he was orchestrating the battle of Endor through the Force while confronting Luke in the OT. Granted, he wasn't phyically dueling Luke, but that is some serious multitasking nevertheless. That's why I don't think it's beyond his capabilities to be a hologram and combatant within the same SWM squad.

Really? I hadn't heard that, but it doesn't surprise me haha
Plapatine is a master of doing all things in pairs....I myself wouldn't be able to play all sides, I'd end up using the wrong cell phone and calling yoda with my seppie number rather than the chancelor's phone haha......
Palpatine "ah, master yoda, we have the plans on Kashyyyk to discuss"
Yoda "your identity, what is?"
Palpatine "it is I, the supreme chancellor of the republic"
Yoda "then why the h**l does Lord Sidious my caller ID say"
