There are a number of instances when a player's dice roll for Initiative may be modified. With Anticipation or Recon, a player may re-roll for Initiative. With Tactician, they add a number to the dice roll. In the case of a tie with the other player, the dice is re-rolled.
My question is... when determining whether you are bringing in Reserves, which number do you use in which situation?!?!?
My guesses are:
1) With Anticipation or Recon, the player may choose which dice roll they use to determine Reserves. The dice roll they choose also determines the order of play.
2) With Tactician, the number shown on the dice determines Reserves, but the number on the dice PLUS the bonus for Tactician determines the order of play.
3) In the case of a re-roll, the number shown on the dice AFTER it is re-rolled determines both Reserves and the order of play.
... I am so uncertain about this, though!

Hey Dave! There's a thread on gamers about it - I *think* you're right on #1 and #3, but #2 might need some clarification: Glossary text of Tactician: Add +[#] to the initiative roll except on a roll of 1. Abilities based on a particular roll (such as reserves) and ties are resolved based on the modified number. If a tie requires rerolling initiative, this ability cannot be used on the reroll. So with #2, the reserves are based on the modified number (with tactician), not the original number. (From http://swmgamers.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=53&t=11282&p=130302)

#1 with recon you choose the result, however with Anticipation you must accept the Reroll #2 you take the result with modifiers #3 the final result is the number that counts

Cool... thanks, guys. After reading the article on Gamers (thanks, Graham!) it appears that when re-rolling a tie, the Tactician ability does not count.
But what about Master Tactician - does it apply on a re-roll? i.e. would Thrawn always win the re-roll as long as he doesn't roll a 1? This point was not so clear to me from the Gamers link.
