I am trying to make an Old Republic Epic Squad. I want to use the new Lord Hoth with some Antarian Rangers. They have affinity for the Old Republic does that mean that for the purpose of commander Effects they are considered Old Republic?

Yes. When a character is added to a squad via Affinity, their faction changes to match that squad. This is covered in the Glossary definition of Affinity.

This would make a great topic for a podcast to cover during its Rules section. Oh, wait, that was just done in #44. If only Nickname were part of it. Oh, wait, he is! If only I knew how to find this wonderful blessing to the SW community. Oh, wait, it's right here: http://www.bloomilk.com/Forums/default.aspx?g=posts&t=10324

But I imagine the OP's question was how did affinity come into play w/ CES that are dependant upon a recipient being of a certain faction. One good example is Jana, SOTJ. If she is in a Mando squad, she counts as a Mandalorian in all respects & therefore can benefit from their CEs. Sincerely, Jester007
