Can someone please explain choosing maps, sides, and what defering means during tournament play.

1. Roll for map, higher chooses map.
2. The lower can now either choose which side they set up or, or allows (defers to) the opponent to pick the side they set up on.
3. Whoever picks side, sets their squad up first, which is why it is a strategic option.
