Hey guys, I'd really appreciate some feedback from the player community on something I've been working on.
I really liked adamb0nd's custom characters Wedge Antilles, Red Leader and General Veers, Blizzard Leader that grant Troop Cart to adjacent Huge allies with Mounted Weapon. Making that connection with Pilots, Gunners and vehicles is so obvious yet totally genius. They do a lot for AT-STs and Snowspeeders, but characters being transported by Troop Cart are still very vulnerable to Accurate Shot, Sniper, Splash Damage, Grenades, Missiles, Melee Reach, Force Powers etc.
So I've been working on this Special Ability for some new figures for the next set I'm working on:
Driver: Adjacent Huge ally with Mounted Weapon gains Armored Transport (This character can transport up to 1 Large ally or 2 Small or Medium allies that have a Special Ability that contains Pilot or Gunner and who end their moves adjacent to it. Remove those allies from the battle grid; they move simultaneously with this character, cannot be targeted or take damage, and are considered to be inside it. They cannot make attacks independantly but can combine fire with this character if they are able to do so and are considered adjacent for combining fire. A transported ally can return to the battle grid immediately before your first activation of the round. If this character is defeated, all transported allies are also defeated; save 6.)
I wonder if this was Rob's original intention when he was designing the game but it never panned out. After the debacle with Desert Skiff and then the refined but not overly used Troop Cart he just abandoned it, but the frame work is in place. It never made sense to me, that Gunners needed to be adjacent to combine fire with Mounted Weapon characters and Pilot never had a use whatsoever.
