Kaan Bomb and Exar DFS Options

For this question, Exar Kun, Dark Force Spirit is haunting Lord Kaan and has used his Dark Aura force power (-4 on saves).

When Kaan is defeated and can trigger Thought BombBomb (or uses it thus defeating him), do enemy characters still have the -4 to the Bomb save (if EKDFS is in range), or is EKDFS removed before resolving Thought BombBomb?

You would resolve Thought Bomb before removing Kaan from the board, so Dark Aura would be in effect while the bomb goes off.
