I just posted two play reports in the Play Report forum (linked scenarios) to start a campaign in the Old Republic era. We'd like to continue with linked scenarios, and to help with the plot we have this thread. If you'd like to help, feel free to describe what happens, invent characters, etc. Basically here we're filling in the gap to reach the next scenario, which we'll be playing (live). You can think of this as a GM-less RPG where everyone is playing every character, and the combat is handled by someone else offline. Not sure if anyone else is interested in jumping in - but you're all welcome to (within reason). We also have the following online GM Emulator, which we will likely be using: http://artifex0.50webs.com/GMEmulator.swf=== Mods: Feel free to move this thread to the appropriate forum, whatever that may be. General probably isn't the right place, but I wasn't sure what was.

After the DECEIVED and EVACUATION skirmishes, now the Whiphid and VIP are escaping and the Mirialan is captured.
Questions for the virtual GM:
Q: Do the Whiphid and VIP escape without incident? YES Q: Is rescuing the Mirialan an immediate priority for the Light Side? YES Q: Why? An Uncertain Amount of Oldness Q: Is the Whiphid part of the rescue team? YES
RANDOM EVENT! E: Setback to 'Whiphid/VIP escape': the Spying of a Rumor

Q: What is the rumor about? Somewhat Ambiguous Hope, Sith Bombardment
Okay, so we have two possible skirmishes coming up. Need to rescue the captured Mirialan (Luminara). Perhaps she is the only one who can establish the age (Oldness) of some important item. For the second skirmish, the Whiphid/VIP have somewhere else to go before leaving Coruscant... there is some rumor that gives them hope of stopping the Sith Bombardment.

Looks like I might just be talking to myself. That's okay, though, as long as others aren't bothered by it. Just trying to get to the next skirmish. Virtual GM announces another random event:
E: Progress on 'Sith Bombardment': the Informing of Advice
Sounds to me like the Sith heard the same rumor that the Whiphid/VIP did, so they will be ready for them when they arrive. Speaking of that, where are the Whiphid/VIP going?
Q: Where are the Whiphid/VIP going in hopes of stopping the bombardment? Answer involves The Exact Opposite of Severity
So they won't be able to stop the bombardment, just make it less severe.
Q: Are they trying to protect something specific on Coruscant? Yes Q: Why is it worth protecting? Answer involves Truly Bizarre Hope Q: Is it data? NO Q: Is it a building? YES
Random event from the GM Emulator: A New Character is introduced, and is involved with the Abandonment of the Inside
Hmmm... what does that mean?

Okay, got it. Here's skirmish #1 for this week. The "Abandonment of the Inside" is a Force-using Sith who is a traitor to the Sith. The Whiphid has heard the rumor that he wants to turn, and has a "Truly Bizarre Hope" that he will be able to provide key intel if he can be smuggled off Coruscant. BETRAYAL Light side: 150 points. Whiphid (K'Kruhk) + any OR non-force users. (The Whiphid can find plenty of allies in the fighting on Coruscant.) Dark side: 150 points, all Sith force users. Whiphid gains the following SA: Join Us: Replaces attacks; touch, target enemy with a Force rating joins your squad for the rest of the skirmish. Usable only once per skirmish. Set-up: Normal... each side gets 4 columns at east/west edges. Light side winning conditions: Turn the dark-side force user and exit Whiphid and turned Sith out the light-side setup area, or gain 3 rounds of uncontested gambit within X rounds. Dark side winning conditions: Prevent light-side from reaching their goal. Players bid for "X". Player bidding the lowest number plays the light side.

Second skirmish will be a "Rescue the Mirialan" skirmish, using the turned Sith and the Whiphid if they survive skirmish #1.

Incidentally, if anyone else plays around with the GM Emulator, I now have the following characters: Whiphid, VIP, Mirialan, Sith Traitor. And the following threads: Sith Traitor changing sides, Sith Bombardment, Mirialan Capture. I'm pretty impressed with it. You gotta be a bit creative with the interpretations, but the story plays out with unexpected twists.

I'll be playing as the Light Side and I was just talking with FlyingArrow and he suggested naming the characters. Looking on Wookiepedia there doesn't seem to be much of a pattern to Whiphid names (other than some have an apostrophe.) Any suggestions for names for the VIP, Whiphid, and Mirialan would be appreciated on my end. We were calling the VIP Mon Quothma and I just don't think that will do.

I was sick last weekend so we didn't get to meet up and continue the story, but we should keep going this weekend.
In the meantime, here are the ames we have so far:
Sith Lords: Darth Oskliv
Light Side Gara Terek for the VIP (formerly Mon Quothma) Q'Quinkk for the Whiphid Jedi Teela Cahl for the Mirialan Jedi

No big write-ups this week, but in summary...
OR finds Darth Oskliv, the turncoat against the Sith. He joins their cause. (Darth Bandon's piece now available for OR skirmishes.) Skirmish played on WotC's old Coruscant/Nightclub map. Key move of the game. Sith squad (me) blocks Q'Quink (Master K'Kruhk) in the nightclub so he won't be able to escape within the specified number of rounds. But I forgot he had Force Leap. Oops. Light side win.
2nd skirmish... rescue of Teela Cahl. 200vs150 Rescue Scenario from Ultimate Missions: Rebel Storm. Map: JC MP1's Old Casino. Teela Cahl is being held in the holding cell in the Bounty Hunter's Office. Old Republic assault squad deals out some damage, but Darth Talon and Darth Zannah hold down the fort until help arrives. They're only 2 Sith characters remaining when time runs out. Teela Cahl had been rescued but didn't get away.
(This thread is some combination of RPG, Custom Scenarios, and Play Reports... so I put it in general because I didn't know where to put it. If any admin wants to move it, feel free.)

The Sith assault on Coruscant coincides with tracking down Jedi all over the galaxy. On a snowy plain (played on the Nelvaan map), a group of Sith track down and kill a Zabrak Jedi Jegen Tarrepp (played by Eeth Koth). They also try to kill Beria Torran (played by Nomi Sunrider, Head of the Jedi Order), but she escapes. Elsewhere, as the war heats up, a group of Republic warriors in a remote part of the galaxy storm a Mandalorian supply depot (new Rebel Fortress map by JC) that is lightly guarded because the Mandalorians are on another front. The small Mandalorian unit holds off the attack. The Mandalorians were led by Karrek Tavrak (played by Manadlore the Preserver). But the hero of the battle was a Mandalorian Gunsmith by the name of Aln Bercken. (The Gunsmith was on 10hp most of the game, but made at least 2 grenades saves and survived at least 2 shots where he would have died when an 8 or less would have killed him.) (Names generated by http://swg.stratics.com/content/gameplay/characters/randomname.php )
