Here are a pair of squads I think WotC could have put together in a Battle of Hoth type scenario set. I know it will never happen but I think it would have done pretty well. The scenario is simply the start of Return of the Jedi as the heroes move in to try and rescue Han. Here are the two 150 point squads:

49 Luke Skywalker, Champion of the Force
27 Han Solo, Smuggler (Frozen in Carbonite)
26 Leia, Bounty Hunter
24 Chewbacca
23 Tamtel Skreej (Lando Calrissian)
8 R2-D2
6 C-3PO

33 Rancor
24 Mistryl Shadow Guard
15 Jabba, Crime Lord
14 Rodian Scoundrel
13 Gamorrean Bodyguard
13 Sith Wrangler (representing some Rancor Keeper figure)
10 Twi'lek Bodyguard
9 Gamorrean Guard
8 Bib Fortuna
7 Aqualish Assassin
4 Salacious Crumb

The Rebel side is pretty tight so there isn't much wiggle room for figures there while staying in theme. Jabba's side has lots of room for change. The thing here is I want the Rancor and a Jabba to stay (big selling points if it was ever made) but because of all the R/VR in the Rebel squad I want to stay away from those on this side.

You could also use the KotOR Jedi Luke if you want 20 points more to play with on the rebel side.

That's true except you'd either need to make Jabba's side smaller (which could be done) or figure out what to add to the Rebels. There are actually several Lukes that could work based on appearance (I'm afraid that the Young Jedi version may be the most accurate in the time line) but then the question becomes what to do with the points and or how to change Jabba's Forces to stay the same.

You wouldn't have to balance the points if you have a balanced scenario with a goal other than a straight attack. Somehow linking the JC Jabba's Palace and the WotC Rancor Pit into a single skirmish would be awesome. Good luck with that! :)
