The thread on dark temptation, and its subsequent answers, prompted a question in my mind. Since force points need to be spent prior to their accompanying actions (ie spending a point to move extra space before moving, using Sith Rage immediately prior to an attack), is it possible to spend a force point that, in essence, does nothing?
The only situation I could think of where this could come up is spending a force point to move extra spaces, just to spend the force point for some strategic value, but still only moving at the characters speed. Is this possible? Or does every force point spent need to be "used" for something?
Also, and I'm pretty sure I know the answer to this question is "no" based of the other threads. Could Savage Oppress use Indiscriminate Rage if he doesn't attack on that turn?

You can use Indiscriminate Rage and not attack. The wording just says you get +4 +10 on all attacks you make that turn, it doesn't say you have to attack.

You can only use Indiscriminate Rage before you attack. This follows ALL precedents set back with Use the Force and or Sith Rage. For the most part, you can't waste force points. You must use Force Points to go with the corresponding action, which you must use against a valid target. Very few things can be used without a target. Move Faster is about the only one, since you can decide to stop.

You could also reroll a successful roll, which would be a waste.
