We do not know if this can become a reality, but it never hurts to check on things like this, so here are the basics. The idea has been thrown out to see how much interest there might be to have a new print run done of our first VSet, Destiny of the Force. We "officially" ran out back in August at Gen Con, but it seems there might be some people who either missed out on the first opportunity, or have come into the game since then, and we want to give every one the chance to acquire a professionally printed set of the cards. If the interest is there, we could do another fundraiser to collect money for a print run of about 100 sets. I don't have the final numbers and such, but it would be somewhere around $1000 for the small print run. We don't want to do anything like this to where it is a waste of time and money, so we put this out to you guys. If you would for sure be interested, or know people around you, in your playgroups, etc. who missed out, please speak up. If you don't need sets, but want to help out the community, if we fundraise, you can say something about that, as well. We'll keep an eye on this to see if it might become a possibility.

I'd be willing to donate to help out, I missed out on the first V-set and I'd love to be able to pick up those cards.
This depends a little bit on the donation requested as I'm on a bit of a budget currently, but I think I should be able to help out if it is line with the last V-set. Hope this all works out. :)

I have no use for this, but if you believe that there are enough players who still need a deck, or, even better, new payers who have come in after the first v-set was released, I'd be willing to donate keep the game thriving.

If there are just 35 people who really want a set, and they are willing to put out $20 for a set, that's $700. The last $300 would be pretty easy to get, I'd think. With 65 more sets, that's only $5 per set. Add in a few people who donate, and the last sets could be available for free. So really, you'd just need about 35 interested parties... or at $40 per set, just 10-20 *really* interested parties.
Since you don't actually need that many people, you could do your own free 'kickstarter' right here to see how much interest there is, where interested parties would post how much they're willing to contribute. Just to find out if there's enough to make it happen. Of course, then there's the issue of collecting the money or finding someone generous enough to bankroll it and count on reimbursement.

I would be interested.
Interestingly enough I just spent $11 and change to have a set professionally printed this past week because I got into the game after DotF came out. Now while I got them printed on a good card stock I cut them all myself to save extra charges. Of course mine are also single sided (no DotF art printed on the back). Evidently the pdf at gamers isn't the full res art either so while my cards are definitely better than ones printed off of your computer they are clearly not as nice as the originals.
Having gone through that process I just wanted to convey to everyone who might be interested in this or any of the v-sets the great value you get when donating to get a professionally printed set.

Well, since I think my original "request" for a Destiny deck was the start of this ruckus, I'd of course would be interested If people are willing to pony up $20 for the current V-Set's I see no reason that the reprint couldn't be the same if it's a bare minimum run; more the merrier (and cheaper.)

Another option I can think of would be to make an actual online storefront. Put up preorders at say, 15 bucks a pop, and when it gets close to or at the goal, print them up and send them out. Any remainders can stay on the store for a little more, hanging around until they sell. Another benefit would be that any leftovers of the other sets can also be put up for sale there as well.

Guys, don't get so focused on the mechanics of paying and printing up a V set (we have done this before and understand the pitfalls). Focus on, would you be interesting in a set of DotF. Donations to cover printing are listed above. We are looking for a number (10, 30, 50, 100, 300, etc).

I'm interested in 1 or 2 extra sets, and would kick in some for the cause - amount depending on final cost per set.

A few thoughts: Would the per-set cost be (relatively speaking) cheaper if there were multiple sets? There may be some folk who would be interested in a reprint of V-Sets 1 and 2 together, perhaps. Also, I'm assuming this would be a simple reprint of the pdf, with no changes? Personally, I'd shell out for another set if the images changed (for example, using the selected images from the customs community; see http://www.bloomilk.com/Forums/default.aspx?g=posts&t=9929)

I can already say no, because you are printing more images (60-70 more images on the front, doubling the images on the back).

You mean two different images on the back (one for each set)? Simple solution: Create a "Reprint" image for all reprinted sets.
When I was in printing many years ago, the more pages you printed, the cheaper it was per page, but usually in benchmarks. I guess that's what I was asking. If a 60-card set costs X to print, would a 120-card set cost X+X, or somewhere less than that?

That's not a bad idea at all. You can already differentiate the sets by the icon on the front below the stats. Lightsaber hilt for Vengeance, Blaster for Renegades and Rogues, Phoenix (or whatever bird that is) for DotF, etc. You really wouldn't have to keep the same images as the first run.

Still getting away from the real question. What interest is there in a V set 1 reprint?

A new thread with the appropriate title will be understood and more direct than "Possible Destiny of the Force re-printing" but I'll chip in for a set .....

I'm interested.
You might want to consider setting up a funding drive on Kickstarter.com. The Mass Transit IV map set from Christopher West was just funded at about $11,000, if I remember correctly.

I've been linking up with NZ players that are interested in exploring Vsets with the possibility of me getting them 2 & 3. If Destiny was reprinted, I'd instantly take 10 - maybe more.

@kezzamachine
Are there more established players in our group who didn't get DotF? I know Danny doesn't have it, so I'm wondering if Henko and Andrew, and maybe others, are in the same boat? I think Alan and Dee had to get their sets done by a printer off the PDF too, so they might even be keen?
