Where do saves apply? Options

Is there a general rule on who makes the save for any given ability or Force power? Is there wording or a format that points to a particular player? I ask because some abilities are clear, whereas others are more ambiguous in their wording. I like to make customs and it might help when wording new abilities. Thanks.

The character affected makes the save. Abilities are pretty clear on who makes the save.
