Have you ever thrown your dice in anger during a game, after being frustrated by a low series of rolls? Bloomilk wouldn't let me make a poll, but my answer is yes. Am I the only person here who is over-competitive and easily frustrated? You tell me.

Amusingly, the only game where I've done thrown my dice was in the round robin of a tournament. I played against the same player with the same squad again in the final of the same tournament. I really couldn't complain about my dice in the final, and I still got steamrolled. So it probably wasn't my d20's fault....

I haven't, but one of my friends did it from time to time. One time he threw his metal d20 so hard it ricocheted off the wall and hit me in the face. It was not a pleasant experience.

I've never thrown dice in the store, but I have put the dice on the ground and stomped on it.

A former player in my group once threw his dice over the store because he lost. He quite soon after.

For the record, I threw mine under the couch, not at anyone. Also, I didn't throw my dice because I lost, but only because I got emotional because I felt its performance was seriously sub-par.

I'm trying to get more mature and better at not doing stuff like dice throwing, and I thought talking about it might help me and anyone else who has a problem.

I've thrown dice but usually not because of the die but due to a number of other factors converging at one point in time. Perhaps the biggest pain about throwing the die is going to retrieve it.

I came close in my loss to Mike in our 100-pt Tourney... when his Poggle Bombs made a whopping 10 out of his first 11 saves to keep his Geonosians alive. That cost me the game. But, I realised how the system can so easily turn as he lost the final by having his Geonosian make the save and therefore not dying and blowing up the last opposing player which would have won him the game. Chance is a funny thing.

When I get bad rolls I simply chuck my die back in its bag and use one of my other ones. I wouldn't be able to stand the humiliation of standing up or bending over to retrieve a die!

I generally try and keep in mind that this is just a game, and as the leader of my group here, I need to set an example of good sportsmanship. Still, after one frustrating game against my son where I rolled an ungodly number of 1s, I threw the offending die and it became lodged in the insulation in the ceiling of our basement. We both started laughing and that ended my frustration.

Sometimes the other dice need to be shown what could happen to them. (Sometimes they form a union and all of them roll 1 less than the number needed.)Confused

Yes. Embarrassingly enough, more than I would like to admit. Even threw the unfortunate mini that failed his saves on his own twin splash during a release tournament. This is the main reason I am hesitant to play anymore as I don't like being that person I become. It got so bad that i wanted throw my Vassal dice, but that would have been severely expensive ;). I know the VA group is probably glad I left for that very reason.

I never have (I'm more of the dice changing kind), but I have a friend who occasionally would when we would play at his home. Then his cats would play with the dice and chase them. That was quite amusing.

Having played against JHC, I competed for distance on the table throw.

Oh my! I have gotten Darph Nader to throw his dice NO LESS than 5 times. Abiet it has been in his office at work where noone can see his childish rants. I feel that it's mostly due to his lack of commitment to the particular dice that he's using. He has a great many to choose from and the names he's given them are just as plentiful. The "Force Die" was the first to be banished to the bottom of the bag. He was very much like the "battered wife" with that dice. "It'll be different this time," was his refrain until he threw it the third time. The next was the "Yoda, Force Spirit Die" who's clear green suppleness betrayed him as the Ring betrayed Gollum. The list goes on. The most recent toss broke the sound barrier, I think, and caused the dice to enter subspace. We're still looking for that one.

I'll bookmark this thread and keep you guys informed.

Not really. Every once in a while I'll throw one back into my squad box pretty forcefully and then pull out a different one, but I don't think I've ever really chucked one across the room. One time that I did throw it back in the box it bounced right back out and towards my opponent, but I totally didn't do that on purpose, I promise. Wink

After a series of BAD rolls, I fired the D20 and tossed over my shoulder.
A friend went to get it and burst out laughing, "got another 1, Jak".
The die got the last laughBlushing

Personally I never get frustrated with my die, if it is rolling really poorly I have been known to switch it out for another, but most of the time I just ride out the bad rolls then when it is rolling exceptionally well it is my opponent who wants to throw my die. "That's your fifth crit!!"
