Ok, im not a designer so this isint something im proposing but im curious as to weather or not it would be a good idea, or bad idea. I know if you get the V-sets, you have star wars minis, but how many people also have D&D minis? I do, and quite a few. Im also aware that many D&D minis have been proposed for RM's in the past. The big thing about this is most of the D&D minis that would be used would be for the vong, as they are they ones with the odd beats and such. Heres some examples of figures that have been suggested that are D&D and ones we could use in the future.

Leviathan-Fiendish T-Rex
Voxyn-Warbound Impailer

Other future Minis:
Tu'Scrat-Giant Purple Worm
and a few others I forgot for the moment, let me know what you think!

I think it's important that the official rm stock to just swm figs, but I think dnd minis can make awesome rm's (I just wouldn't want their pictures on the vset cards).

I use a lurking wraith for exar kun force spirit.

Though they would never be official RMs, I think it would be fun to discuss and compile an alternate RM list here, from any miniatures line. I've seen some spot-on proxies.

I think a list of recommended minis that make good customs would be an awesome idea! Maybe as a sticky in the custom section?

Anyway, as it was mentioned on the on SHNN episode, a Deathlock Wight from D&D makes a good Nightsister Mother.

This is a pretty excellent idea. I don't use an DnD miniatures or anything else as RMs, but there are definitely some good ones out there.
