I understand about using Lobot, or Palleon or whatever to be able to customize your squad to better fight different opponents. But I'm not quite understanding how to do this effectively. Can someone please advice? I'm not understanding how you can be ready for anything, with only 20 points.

There's ton of different things that you can bring in depending on what you're playing - here are some that get used:

Ponda Baba and Salacious Crumb - against a Lancer or another strafe piece

Kel Dor Bounty Hunter - against a Lancer

Treadwell Droid - It's A Trap against nom bombs

Momaw Nadon - war throat against mouse walls or low hp swarms

Rakghoul - against nom bombs or low hp swarms

Jawa Scavenger - against droids, or against R2-D2 Astromech Droid

Wicket or R4 - if you're playing against a high defense squad

Muun Tactics Broker - you don't really want to mainline this in your squad in case you're playing against San Hill or Prefect de'Gara, so it's better to bring it in using Lobot

Or you can just bring in different mixes of bodyguards, 3 point filler pieces, override etc.
