I think my eyes are getting better. Instead of a big dark blur, I see Bloo Milk.

Since the game is no longer being produced, finding unopened boosters is getting more difficult. I managed to track down 34, so I decided to host an out of the box tourney. Here's how I ran it:

I bought 17 rectangular and 17 trapezoidal boosters. I put 1 of each in a paper bag, so not only do you not know what minis you're getting, you don't even know what sets you're getting. Each non-huge set was represented except for Champions (the ebay guys wanted $35 per.) The entry was free, (since most of the players were complete anyway,) but if you wanted to keep your minis, the cost was $20. All minis that the players didn't keep went to my son's collection.

We had 12 players. Players rolled d20's to choose their bag first, then we all built 150 point armies with what we pulled. Matt is notorious for not only pulling bad, but for pulling C3PO in some form. So we instituted the "Matt rule: if anyone pulls a C3PO, they have the option of choosing another bag if there are some left." Matt rolled a 1, so he chose before me. (I didn't want anyone to think I knew what was inside each bag, so I chose after everyone else did.) After 10 players had chosen their bags, Matt opened his up. He had the "Alpha Omega" bag- Rebel Storm and Masters of the Force. He opens up his Rebel Storm pack, and proceeds to pull out...C3PO. His MotF was Anakin Force Spirit. After much raucous laughter, he chose another bag. No one else pulled a C3PO in any form.

I don't know what Eric pulled for Rares, but I know he had a Jawa on Ronto for one of them. So among the 33 rares that I do know about, 12 were VR's, which is a pretty good ratio, IMO.

VR's pulled: Ronto, Leia Captive, Leia Bounty Hunter, Darth Maul Sith Apprentice, CS Darth Sidious, Luke's Landspeeder, Cad Bane (freaking Cad Bane!), Wolf Sazen, AT-RT, Repulsor Sled, Anakin Sith Apprentice, Freedon Nadd

I managed to pull a Repulsor Sled and Master Windu. My squad:

Master Windu
Jedi Healer
Human Force Adept
Sullustan Scout
Twilek Rebel Agent
Mon Calamari Tech Specialist
Rebel Soldier
Wookiee Freedom Fighter
Death Star Trooper

My first game I played was against Chuck. He had the AT-RT and Kyle, Combat Instructor, with a HK-50 and a Death Watch Raider. I had nine activations to his 6. We played on the Dark Forge map. I went with a 2-pronged attack, I brought my melee on one side and my shooters on the other side. The big move was basing his HK with Mace, next round tripled to take it out early (after damaging it with my Wookiee). His AT-RT missed a few times before I took it out, and Mace won the Kyle/Mace showdown (Shatterpoint helped). 1-0

Second game was against Boba52 on the Coruscant Jedi Temple map (Battlefront 2). He had 2 Anakins, Sith Apprentice and Nelvaan. I managed to get him to bunch his people up, based Sith Apprentice with Mace. I figured I had a healer, so I could take some damage on mace. Next init I repulsed, and I also managed to get my 2 Spotters up, so my Rebel Soldier was shooting at +14 for 50 with combined fire. He failed many of his Djem So rolls with Nelvaan (he rolled bad all game.) He killed a few of my 10hp minis early, but once Mace was up in his grill, the party was over. 2-0

Third game was against Klecser, who pulled the Cad bane. We played on the Dantooine map. It was cat and mouse for a little bit, but again he managed to bunch his people up. I ran my wookiee up to his Stormtrooper Officer, needing a 7 to kill...and rolled a 4. :( Knowing that the wookiee would be his focus, I ran Mace right in the middle of his squad at the end of the round. Next round I repulse, killing many and activating Cad Bane (big roll of the dice there.) Cad survived the round. He won init next round, flew Cad away, but I chased him down and took him out. After that it was cleanup, which might have actually gone his way with his Elite Senate Guard hitting for 30, but 22 def on Mace is tough to hit. 3-0

Last game I played Chris. He had Zam and IG88 Assassin Droid. Note to everyone out there, if you pull a Mando Jedi Hunter, play him. We played on an old Death Star map with tons of TIE fighters in the middle. He got Mace out in the open with his Mando Jedi Hunter and made a ridiculous amount of Parry saves. He killed the Healer first, and without the healer, Iggy was sick in taking Mace out. We did finish off with just Iggy vs Mace, but Mace was at 30hp vs a full Iggy. 3-1

Overall it was a blast as always with this group. Special thanks to all of the travelers from Nebraska and Minnesota. It really is great to get together with them.
