In the case of a granted immediate attack (e.g. Imperial Officer), can this attack be modified e.g. by twin attack or Opportunist? Can the character use a 'replaces attack' when given an immediate attack? Thanks,

No, I'm pretty sure you can't use a replaces attack for an immediate attack, but it is modified by twin and opportunist. Replacing attacks is only on your turn when you would normally make your usual attacks.
BTW, welcome to Bloomilk! I just noticed that you joined today.

When you are granted an immediate attack, you cannot replace it with "replaces attacks" abilities.
