I've been thinking of how fun a new, post revived Maul could be. Maybe paired with a Savage to complement each other (built in Dynamic Duo?). It just got me thinking of what faction they would be when they go out among the galaxy after Savage finds Maul and get's him fixed. Granted, there is not that much material (a few episodes, a comic miniseries almost halfway done, and a young adult novel).
Personally, I'm leaning toward Sith, since they are going against Dooku and the CIS as much as they are the Jedi and the Republic.

At the moment I'm voting Fringe, with a Nightbrother sub connector.

I'd go with Sith. The new Maul should have Nightbrother and a good Synergy with Savage Opress, as well as Jedi Hunter SA. I think that he could also use the new SA Camraderie with benefits to Savage (Damage reduction? evade? extra attack?).
I had kinda wished that the Savage we have had been given Damage Reduction 10 or 20 since he had been able to take a ton of shots from seperatists droids and still keep going. A clone shot him right in the chest and he shrugged it off. The Savage we have represents very well some aspects of him in the episodes, but I always thought Mother Talzin or Maul would give him more of a competitive edge.
As a side note, I think if we were to make a Mother Talzin piece in future sets, she should have Camraderie with Assaj and give her the SA Nightsister, as well as some way of making Assaj fringe (independant outfit?) instead of Seperatist to make the distinction that she left the Seps and Dooku and became a Nightsister.

id go with sith also for the feel of it. They are beginning to go that way and maul was trained as a sith apprentice.
now as to abilities i could see Camaraderie giving savage ambush. and possibly speed 8 for maul since he didnt get the legs until then.

Ok, I am sorry but the Sav-Maul combo just means that, on Mustifar, there are a bunch injured Pro-Sepratist bureaucrats healing in vats of Bacta awaiting their resurrection because no one seems to stay dead. I know this not the place for it but I vote Other for someone to rethink that foolishness.

I really like the characterizations I've seen so far (another idea, Crazy Spider Maul) last season in the Clone Wars and the new comic. Making him come off not as just as Sidious's weapon, but an actual Sith Lord. Besides, we still have Maw, which ironically is a pretty close name to Maul.

I will take my response to the O/T board so I don't derail this thread any further. I haven't watch Season 4 yet so I don't know the full context. I just get tired of seeing this Universe using the dead fan favorites so much it borders on necrophilia.

After the BoT Maul, I'm just really interested in new possibilities for Maul, since that Maul is kind of top of the line. The new stories give some fun possibilities for new pieces. Death Watch Maul in particular.

I may start to, but there is no way I'm going to consider it canon. I don't care about what the creators think. The series conflicts with far foo many other sources and stories. Easier to consider it pure entertainment and as having no impact on the Universe at all.

Fringe. They were no longer sith, as palpatine had replaced maul by that time, so maul was not a sith, regardless of what he considered himself. They were also against the CIS. That being said, they were their own faction. And that should be represented by fringe, possibly with a subfaction.

I just saw a picture of the robotic leg Darth Maul. He'd be really cool as a custom, for sure, and there's so many custom makers on Bloomilk that do so well at customizing... I can't wait to see one of them create it, whether he comes out as a v-set or not.

They should definitely not be sith, because in a trailer for season 5, palpatine hunts them down on mandalore . . . They should be mandalorians with a subfraction of death watch! . . . anyway, he hunted them down on mandalore, and battled them because of the rule of two, and there were already palpatine and Dooku. Yeah, I think they should be death watch. to bad I already voted for fringe before posting.
