Dont you think its time for one? We now have had sets set aside almost exclusively for each faction and the MOST vong we have gotten form ANY set top out at 6 figures. A pretty meek amount. Also vong are the least represented characters in the game, with almost 10 less than mandos at a total of 34 figures. Some people have more mouse droids than there are vong. Not to mention the vong come form 19 books, 19 books. Thats quite a bantha poodo load of info on them. There are scores of unrepresented uniques as well as non uniques in the form of their utilities and animals. As I continue reading the books I keep enjoying these guys more and more and want more and more figures to play with. I think its well with in reason to have a set with 20 some odd vong characters dont you think? They could also be centered around the vong, like characters from the NJO series. This would be pretty awesome to get feedback for and let me know your ideas!
Theres also 19 books worth of other characters that we haven't seen yet that are pretty major. Any one been wanting to see a Droma? Gavin Darklighter? A NR chewbacca?

I like the title it's got panache or something like Heretics & Abominations. Nevertheless a Vong themed v-set would be cool even if it was a mini set like BoT.

i wouldn't be against it, just not sure what new republic pieces they would put it in. Though there are a few main characters i could see getting a reprint for it...

20 in a normal set of 60? Um... no.
A Vong-themed mini-set where they get 6 or 8 of the 12 slots, I could see that. In addition to the normal 5 or 6 in the base set.

I would also go for the next mini set to be "Invasion" this is such a good idea you should post it in the set ideas thread. Just make up a set list too, actually there posted haha

Any one else on board with this? Im on the last vong book and would REALLY love to see some of the characters from NJO series in there, so many uniques to be made for such a lacking faction.

Personally I can't stand playing a Vong squad, and wouldn't really get much enjoyment out of that many Vong minis, but it's a good idea for the game and many, many people would love it, so I'm in support of it.

I haven't read anything more than the Invasion comics and Vector Prime, so I don't know more than what I have read. But seeing that the Vong invaded Mandalore, a subset around this battle would be cool.

You should read the books. All 19 of them. Then all you will want to do is play vong.

Vong set is LONG overdue!!
This faction needs serious thoughts about unique game play to make it have a chance against the other factions.

As of now vong have less than 15 uniques and I can think of at least five more MAJOR unique vong that could all easily make their way in toa single set.

Im no Vong uber fan but they need the same love thats been given to Mara, Mace and Galem. The problem is that they have no real range attack and could become easily over powered if not handled with care. (Hi Mara   ) This means they need more than a defence boost, maybe a defence boost against just range attacks? They are almost a stand alone faction. They dont fit the rest of the minis game, I can see how they can be easily overlooked in favour of a new, set of imps, rebs or OR but they need serious help and attention. The Yammosk is a peach! Great work, great addition but its a baby step for them. Shimrra was a big let down for them when he should have been a game changer. Czulkang Lah is what he should have been!! Omni was pretty blasted good actaully, but still missed the mark for them. Jakan was good but I think it shouldnt have been 'Jakan' with this CE. An unnamed commanded like a 'Rebel Leader'. Prefect Da'Gara is realy good! Reserves and door control are great in every faction! Lets have some ideas and thoughts, and critique that could help them. here goes... CHEAP vong only fodder for swarm squads. Aagh. Is all I can here to this one. The Dovin Basal. Something that sucks up, absorbs, or forces damage to been done to it. Now this is something that they do need. They 'Slayer' in the previous set was handled badly. Thats harsh I know, but IMO this is should have been the Vongs JWM+BBSV+TBSV. New Overlord Shimrra that should be a command and assault beast! 130 hp??? 180 and Melee reach 3 should be basic for him.

Range attacks are still iffy, as yes, the only real range stuff that they used, thud bugs, razor bugs, plasma eels and what not. Maybe something to boost their range?
Dovin basials are an absolute. In one of the books they had this creature that was more or less a walking dovin basal to soak up range attacks. I think its called a thrall hearder.
While jakan wasent given a CE (and im not sure why he was made first) harhar is another huge priest that can be given access to any number of CEs. Same for mazza quawad (spelling =/) another huge shaper like nen yim, any number of possabilites. Shimmra, dont get me started.
One thing I have been toying about the idea with is what if we made a coralskipper miniature? We have a snow speeder and the sizes arent that far different. It would give them some great mobility and ranger attacks. Thoughts?

You look at the lists of figures that people want made, you will see that the Vong are still in the minority. But, they will never be ignored again. Even if the pieces they get may not always be the best.
