The wording on the card says "may use this character's force powers as if they were their own."(sic) This relates to even force renewal. The character's affected by force meld for the purposes of Force Renewal count as FR 1 or as using Anikan Solo's FPs as their own.
In other words: Force Meld (indirectly) grant FR 1 for permament FP gain or the use of Ani Solo's FP pool (Like a force battery?)

The allied characters would effectively have Force Renewal while they are within 6 of Anakin. They cannot spend Anakin's Force Points.

Force Points and Force Ratings are not Force Powers and cannot be shared. Force Renewal is a Force Power, and will be shared.

It was the "as their own" part throwing me. I wanted to make sure I wouldn't be using ASGH's FPs. This was the outcome I expected based on precedent but wanted to make sure. Makes giving a droid renewal easier.

You need to start with a Force Rating and a Lightsaber to use Force Meld.

And unfortunately Proxy is probably still over-costed even with renewal....

Right, Im saying that PROXY was the only droid that would qualify for Force Meld as he is the only one with a force rating and Lightsaber.
