I've looked through the top rated squads, but I'm not seeing any of the naboo death shots. I've heard the naboo figs from the mini set were competitively viable (despite their unusually low rating), but can't figure out what people are running them with, Or how they manage to run a competitive trooper based squad with kybuck still running around. By the name "death shot", I assume mon mothma is included, and probably yularen, as trooper squads typically are high activation.

Basically, with the combination of Panaka of Theed, Yularen, and Mon Mothma, you get a 6-pt (5 if the squad has Queen Amidala) unit, that when killed, retaliates with 2 attacks at 9 attack (or more depending on squad build) and 30/20 damage. Pilots are also thrown in on occasion as their Bravado makes them a nightmare against Melee units.

With the sheer number of volleys being thrown, some squads go down hard against it. Yobuck also isn't as big of a threat due to the troopers having 30 HP, so he can't gallop through them as he can't kill them in one hit and their AoOs/death shots will tear him up.

In any case, the Naboo still have major weaknesses. The lack of Accurate means that Stealth and the like are very effective against them. Also, because of the reliance on Opportunist, they can be seriously hampered by proper positioning. Finally, they are destroyed by Disruptive and ABM because of the reliance on CEs to do anything effective.

IMHO there is a greater reliance on the twin then Opportunist, as the troopers have deceptive. Stealth is a problem but remember the old Soviet proverb that, "quantity has a quality all it's own." Also flood the board with say three 4 point RD's Stealth problem is solved or just base the piece and get your DS' ready to fire.

Have a look at this gem, if I do say so myself.... Wink

Naboo troopers are all about pumping their attack up and using mobile attack to hurt stuff. Once the enemy advances on you to kill your guys you hit back really hard with their mon Mothma death shot.

Naboo Pilots are all about moving at breakneck speeds to base enemies and do tons of damage. Getting Bravado and Opportunist let's them do tons of damage.
