Does 'automatically fails saves' mean that the person doesn't even roll, or that they roll the save but then interpret the roll as a failure regardless of what is on the die. This could be significant, for example, when facing a squad with Darth Vader, Dark Jedi.

You still roll, since it doesn't change what you rolled.

If Zam uses Missles on a target with Shields in low cover, are the Shield saves also failed, or is it just the Missle save that is failed?

Quote: Rigged Detonators (Characters in or adjacent to a square with low objects automatically fail saves against this character's attacks and abilities) It appears Rigged Detonators would have no effect on your Shields saves. The failed saves are against her attacks and special abilities only according to the card text.

Then what does it mean to make a save against an attack, if that's not talking about SAs used in response to the attack?

However, Shields saves are made against damage, so they are applied normally. I think. I'm pretty sure that the solution to this lies in the Morrigan Corde ruling (whether or not Voduum Cram Armor can reduce her damage).

Maybe the auto-fail against Missles is just for the missle hit/miss roll?

juice man wrote:If Zam uses Missles on a target with Shields in low cover, are the Shield saves also failed, or is it just the Missle save that is failed? OK, based on the ruling on Morrigan Corde (Here: http://www.bloomilk.com/Forums/default.aspx?g=posts&t=12353), it would seem that Shields, Voduum Crab Armor, Beskar'gam, Evade, Missiles, and all saves that respond to her abilities or to damage from her abilities are automatically failed. So, yes, the Shield save would also be failed. However, stuff like Avoid Defeat still works normally. (Of course, I could be wrong...)
