Evade and Bodyguard? Options

Can a character with evade and bodyguard attempt a save if using bodyguard to absorb damage from an adjacent enemy?

No. Bodyguard happens after damage evasion abilities like Evade happen. This is covered in the Resolving Effects section of the FAQ.

Also, Evade only works on attacks. Taking damage via Bodyguard is not an attack.
