So what's everyones take on this piece? He just won a major event at 150 in NZ, and it seems that him and IG-88 Assassin Droid are a pretty strong combo for anything. As the designer that helped work on him I'm curious about everyones perception on him. I think he's one of those rare pieces that you can apply to both the competitive side of the game and to the more theme/fun side as well.
I suggest everyone read "Tales of Bounty Hunters" its a collection of short stories about the bounty hunters Vader sent after the Falcon in The Empire Strikes Back (read: the greatest movie of all time). IG-88A's entire idea came from that story, including the Replication SA, which is apparently keeping Scum & Villiany from being loaded into the squad builder :(.
Personally I like the fact that he and his other personallities can conceivably work well in any faction. It's rare to have a piece that you can fit into anything like that.
So what is everyone's take on him?

It's partly because since they are droids then they don't get any other CEs, so it is a mix of actual support and not just CE pumping.
NR/Reb can be a good fit because of Levitate and Dodonna.
HK-47 can also be good with them.
Rep can be good with R2 carrying one of them around.
OR and Bastilla and her extra damage could be a nice fit.
That's my 2 cents.

I like him as he's a nice, strong piece, but I also hate him for being the primary reason the latest V-set stuff isn't in the squad builder yet.

I like him a lot. In fact I made sure I had enough IG-88s to make them work. I'm interested in running a fun squad with 3 or 4 of them, but I think they have a lot of competitive applications as well. Like you said at 150 he just won a tournament with a really solid build. I think that could be a great framework for a 200 point squad. And I'm really interested to see if different factions with IG Builds do well. I absolutely love this piece! I've used the A+AD combo twice already and am going to run them again tonight.
I read Tales of the Bounty Hunters probably 15+ years ago. Since then I've remained a big fan of thr 88's, Bossk, Zuckuss and even 4 Love of Money. I never really cared for Dengar.
The movement breakers are huge for AD. In addition to everything Jason said above I think R2PO could work well with them too with Disruptive and bodyguard in the NR. You would have to lose Hk though to do it I think. I was hoping to find a way too fit them in together fot double disruptive and keep Ganner.

I like him. A nice creative piece, that has a lot of squad building potential. I just wish there were more BH CEs that applied to Droids for poor ol' Iggy and 4LOM.

One of my favorite new pieces, if for no other reason than he makes me really enjoy again playing the older version that I've enjoyed for years.

I love this piece and have had some succes in our playgroup running him in new republic with Lowbacca and Ganner. I am not really a fan of droids, and it is amazing that there is one out there that makes me want to play them, so all I can say is job very well done.

He's one of my favorite pieces in the set. As you said, competitive and flavorful. I haven't gotten to play him (I almost never play... my local community is gone and i'm "the last of the jedi", if you will)... but he looks great on paper. Far from broken, far from useless... good job.

Weeks, I will hand it to you on this piece, I love it. I think it is a perfect start to a Bounty Hunter/ Droid army. I actually practiced with him and the other IG- 88 with the new Leia and new Han and the Anakin Force Spirit, for Minis Mania 2! Pretty nasty little combo, and tough for opponents to decide on who to go after. I think there are some synergies he is lacking with, but I can see that easily being taken care of in future sets, which I full heartily hope they/you do. I hope more droid CE come out, and not just in Seps, because that is one faction I really... really hate playing. But all in all, a solid piece that makes use of older pieces, and opens the door for future design around them

Don't thank just me. Leshippy, Boris, and urbanjedi all pitched in on it too.
Seems that he is pretty well liked and enjoyed, I was just curious what you guys thought.

I simply don't understand why the stats for S&V can't be done without IG-88A. Why one single piece is grinding Bloomilk squad builder to a halt is beyond my comprehension. the answer is so simple- leave him out until his SA can be be figured out.
something is amiss with ole Bloo, and most of us are not in on the apparent secret*! I've relied on the squad builder since I first joined, 18 days after shinja. I'm not willing to build any serious squads without it. *!-see my new thread under bloomilk problems/suggestions

He's the first droid I've been excited to play in a very long time.

Has anyone tried Imperial? It seems potentially cool having Palleon for Ysalamari and HK-47 for Disruptive in the same squad - it would shut down lots of things.

I've played a squad that is somewhat similar. My only real concern is that Pelleon wold be too big of a target. I solved that by surrounding him with Larges, so they had to chew through a lot of HP to get to either HK or Pelleon. It could still work, played differently.
