Ok, so this would be my favorite choices for this type of campaign. If I left off a good one feel free to vote for other then post the factions yours consist of.

When it comes to the conquest of planets, I don't think the Rebels are really going to be in play here. They didn't take over planets until the end, when they sort of were the New Republic. So my vote is NR vs Imp.

It's just one skirmish that's being played... it doesn't mean the Rebels took over the planet. Maybe it just means the Rebel cell on that particular planet wasn't crushed by the Imperials and slipped back underground. With enough cells surviving, the Rebels live long enough for the victory at Endor. With enough Imperial victories, the Rebellion is crushed before they ever get that far.

I'm up for working on a ruleset and playing in the 'war' myself, but if we're going to use the idea of having a Supreme Commander for each side, that's not something I'm ready to sign up for. Hopefully a couple brave souls (one for each side) would want that position. Depending on the rules we settle on, it could mean an hour or two of dividing up the pieces among the other players and then a dozen emails per week.

We could start with sign ups? Just a list of people who are willing to give this a shot, and we can divide them up?

shmi15 wrote:We could start with sign ups? Just a list of people who are willing to give this a shot, and we can divide them up? Hm. Sign ups or rules first? On the one hand, it's easier to write rules if we know how many players there are. On the other hand, people might hesitate to sign up if they don't know the exact rules. But if we're going to use the basic framework described in the other thread, that's probably enough to at least write the call for players, even if we don't have the details ironed out yet. For sign ups, I think players should sign up in pairs: two people who are able to play against each other (either in person or on Vassal). One chooses Rebels and one chooses Imperials. If there's a playgroup that wants to sign up, they could instead sign up in a block with half being Rebels and the other half Imperials (preferably an even number of players). The idea being that we don't want to assign opponents every week - everyone will already know their opponents. Does that make sense? That way, the Supreme Commanders can decide which pieces are available to people, but nobody has to worry about actually matching players to opponents.

I think we'll need an official sign-up thread that spells out as much of the rules as we can. Let's aim to get that up in the next day or two. Part of the rules (I think) will depend on how many people sign up.

Voted Rebels Vs Imps. It was Vader and Luke that got me in to this game. I'd love to sign up but I'd have to play against my misses, as shes the only other minis person in my area lol.

And we're off! http://www.bloomilk.com/Forums/default.aspx?g=posts&m=124062#124062 I think we need 12 (6 per side) to make this feel appropriately epic, but the more the merrier.
