Thinking of making some customs but want to make sure of a few things before I start hacking up my minis.

I saw the example in the floor rules with the mouse droids, does that mean you need to have at least one original figure or could you run four custom mouse droids as long as you have four original stat cards? If so does that mean I could run Prince Xizor using my orphan "prince Xizor" card with my "Xizor" figure?

How far can you customise a mini and still use it as the original? Can I paint up a Sith Lord to look like Joruus C'baoth but if I need to, still use him as a Sith Lord? I get the deal with not being able to add a gun to a Melee piece but what about changing a head or something, like putting Mando heads on stormtroopers or putting big horns on Emperor Roan Fel.

Cheers

I think alot of it is who you play with. Im not in to tourny play but I would go out on a limb and say we dont have rules that specific. Especially with the addition of V-sets customs are so much more widly accepted. If your playing with friends, anything goes. In tourny I would probably say if you want to change any colors on anything (like the jorrus question) everything would be legal, same as changing poses. Some may have a problem if you compleatly customize a non v-set mini, but personally I wouldn't care.

at our buffalo regional we had a squad that had two custom made storm trooper on speeders made out of two swoop bikes and no one really cared. all we really needed were the cards (either the originals or non altered scans, which was what this squad had) technically speaking it probably should not have been allowed but as long as the base size was correct and it was a good representation of the original "Most" do not care. Granted you might not be able to get away with it at gen con, but at most tournaments people don't care they just want to play. as for stat cards you need at least one for each different character. if you are running 10 mouse droids you do not need 10 cards. If you are missing stat cards take a look at swmresorces.com they have all of WOTC cards scanned there.

Basically my understanding is that you need 1 card per custom mini. Although this may have changed some with the V-Sets, what with most of us only getting one set each, with one card of each mini per set.

But with custom mouse droids, I think you don't need the original mouse, as long as you have one official card per custom mouse mini.

It does also depend on who you play with though.

I suppose i'm more after official rulings, most of us probably wouldn't care to much, but if someone rocked up to our weekly minis night with two custom speeders when none of us have any, it probably wouldn't look too good.

It just makes it fair on everyone I suppose.
