If you use saber dart twice on the same target through Tarpal's commander effect, and that character fails the first save, but then passes the second save, is the target no longer poisoned?

I think i found the answer... it looks like the initial save is to avoid the damage and poison status. It looks like only the save after activating is to remove the poisoned status. So, succeeding the second save from the second saber dart would not remove the poisoned status.
