Alright, so it's time to do the nominations for this year's Hall of Fame class! This will be open for about a month (ending in mid-December, probably December 14th).
The way it works is you can nominate exactly 5 people for induction into the Hall of Fame. The current members of the HoF will then vote on the nominees. Post all nominations in this thread.
The top 3 nominees (people who got the most nominations) will get 1 free "community vote" during the voting process.
Threads are up at both Gamers and Bloomilk; please only post your nomination in one of the two places, not both. Remember that you should nominate exactly 5 people, no more, no less.
As a reminder, here is the list of people who are currently in the Hall of Fame. Don't nominate these guys!
Class of 2008: Dennis Beard aka Boris the Dwarf Matt Francella aka Jedicartographer Jim Fraser aka Moses2813 Eric Larson aka Engineer Steve Leskow aka Fool Bill Russell aka Billiv15 Shawn Sparks aka StSparks72 Jason Tanner aka Nickname Chuck monarch aka ChuckM Rob Watkins Kelly Krieble aka Dr Divot Dean Miller aka Dnemiller

Okie day, I'll be the first to vote on BlooMilk!
Darth Jim - still the person (living or dead) I'd most like to have dinner with. Weeks - Despite him helping our Hutts with squads, I still love him. Sharpies forever. Swinefeld - Love his work with Mod'ing. Puts me to shame! Greentime - Anyone who wins that much should be there. and theHutts - His work here in NZ is awesome, his online contributions to discussions is excellent, he is a student of the game is every sense, and he wins everything here in NZ. We all just fight for second.

Weeks- Great all around player. Should definitely be there.
Ultrastar- Kind of a biased decision, but, after seeing what he put into Minis-mania II(If you don't know, ask anyone there), he definitely deserves some credit. Plus, he's a great player.
Swinefeld- Does a lot of work for the minis community.
Greentime- Great player, despite his random obscenities :D haha
TheHutts- Does great things for NZ. And is also a great player.

I usually have a hard time with this, but a few choices are fairly easy this year: (in no particular order) David Weeks (Weeks)Consistently great player, very heavy contributor to the v-sets, especially in the playtesting area. Makes cool squads and gives very helpful comments on others' squads. Super nice guy, and judging by pictures, does a great Lobot. Jim McNaney (Darth Jim)Longtime player/supporter of the game, his local playgroup, and the community as a whole (SHNN, Gencon, v-sets and more). By all accounts a very good player, and a great guy. Hope to meet him in person one of these days. Graham Bingham (Greentime)Another great player (has won or placed highly in a TON of big tourneys), playtester, squadbuilder and commenter. Super nice (seems to be a common trait with the Atlanta guys) and makes some of the funniest comments I've read on these boards. Very gracious while kicking the poo out of me at the Owensboro regional, which he went on to win. Starts to get a bit harder here... Graham Fyfe (TheHutts)I've read a few comments that the HOF should consider someone from the international community each year, and I agree. TheHutts is one of (if not THE) top players in the New Zealand group, and clearly is an important part of why that community is thriving. Very active on the forums, big-time squadbuilder and commenter (regular SHNN chatter), and always has something valuable to add to discussions. Also, does a great job keeping tabs on what is happening during regional season, and is another really nice guy with a good sense of humor from what I can tell over the internet. The last is always the hardest as inevitably, there are more worthy people than nomination slots. Eric Frost (Ruhk)I've been around long enough to know that he has done a lot behind the scenes for the community (has worked as a Gamers admin for years, judged at Gencon etc). Many Hof members attest to his high level of play skill, and he is one of the people going way back in the game that has yet to make it. Oh, and he would also be another international player to consider. Given the amount of cool stuff going on lately, there should be a bumper crop of fresh nominees come next year.

After much consideration, I decided to do my nominations slightly different this year.
This will be my first year voting AS a Hall of Fame member, therefore I have a unique opportunity.
You see first we do a mass vote on the forums, the top three earning a "community vote", and essentially coming up with finalists.
Then the Hall of Fame picks from the finalists.
Many deserving people are already getting votes en masse, and rightfully so (Weeks, Darth Jim, TheHutts, etc) - so I figure they are already a lock for the finalist ballot.
So since I actually get to vote again as a Hall of Fame member, I will take this opportunity to cast my preliminary ballot with names not seen as much as the very deserving members already frequently nominated, but also worthy in my opinion.
They may or may not make it onto the finalist list (I'm hoping they do), but I think they should be recognized, and their names should be out there.
Jake Koleczek - sthlrd2. Major playtester, customizer, numerous top 4 regional finishes, TILE WARS 2012 World Champion. People may or may not know that he is also a great and creative stat maker. Many abilities and force powers on v-set pieces, present and upcoming, were spawned from his brain. And of course he created and has promoted the Royal Rumble format.
Laurent alias Solter alias Darthsemmemon - French champion and great competitor. He and I have chatted strategy several times over PM, and he clearly understands the game very well.
Laura Kiernan - UrbanShmi. Rock solid squad builder - she knows how to maximize piece potential. Solid player and killer customizer, always a great supporter of the game in general.
Eric Frost - Ruhk. V-Set designer, Mod, great player (regional champ and GenCon top 8 finalist) and he bent over backwards to make prize support for Gencon 2011 happen. It's kind of a shame he's not already in the Hall of Fame
Will Piggot - exiledgamer. Will designed and is continually improving the pairing software used in almost all of our competitive events around the country. For free, on his own time. He really deserves our thanks.
