I like Durge a lot better and was disappointed he didnt join The Clone Wars TV series and was replaced by Cad Bane. Regenerating-buried alive-Mandalorian-and-Jedi-killer or space cowboy?Flapper

As far as I know Durge is not a Mandalorian, in fact if I recall he hates Mandalorians.

Yep, Durge is a Gen'dai. Not a mando

SPOILER:

And if he died when obi and ani sent him off in a rocket in to a sun I a 'Republic' comics. Though im not sure if that came before or after the show. Though I agree he would be awesome in the show.

Considering Lucas was considering turning him human in the show, I think it's good they went with someone new.

I will take Cad Bane all day over Durge. Then again I would pick Cad Bane over Boba Fett too. Cad is one of my top 5 favorite characters in Star Wars.

Durge is super awesome in Genndy Tartakovsky's Clone Wars series. But he only works there. It is so stylized that it just works. I really like Genndy's Clone Wars better (and it's not just because I went to the same College) in so many ways. Good writing, nuanced, surprisingly deep emotional impact, eloquent in it's simplicity at times, having a strong style and feel that you can just lose yourself in.

But, Cad Bane and the newer clone wars is a little more realistic (so to speak). Cad Bane could actually be in a live action movie, Durge would be ridiculous.

Cad Bane is one of the few saving graces for the newer Dave (douchebag) Filloni crap series. I really am awaiting Asoka's death anxiously, because I hate her.

In a way Filloni's Clone Wars fits in with the prequels VERY WELL - poorly written, horribly directed, two dimentional characters (and I am not talking the animation), surface emotional level at best, and vacillating between a kids show and violent adult material . . . saved by some great action sequences, beautiful CG work, and a few kick ass characters. Yup - sounds like the prequels.

I think most of the CGI clone wars is actually much better than the three prequel films. The characters are deeper and more likable, the writting is better, and its typically a good show. It has its crap episodes, but its really uncommon to find a show that doesn't have a sub-par episode here and there.

Not sure what your beef with ahsoka is. Have you seen any of the newer episodes? She's gets better with age.

The cartoon clone wars ( i think thats what you're referring to) was for me, little more than eye candy. It lacked plot and character depths. It was basically one long action scene, which for me, is pretty much what the prequel trilogy was. So, i'm not sure why you feel like its so superior.

+1 Cad Bane

I love this guy. He's calm, cool and collected about his job and just kicks A$$ when he's paid/wants to. I don't think Durge could have stolen a jedi Holocron and kidnaped some young jedi children while setting up his own escape when catpured by Mace Windu and Obi Wan Kenobi. Not to mention he withstood a jedi mind trick from a bunch of jedi's forcusing the force to get the info out of his head. And he held hostage a whole ton of senators, blew up the senate building, rendered Anakin helpless, and suprised even Palpatine, and escaped scott free. He's awesome!

Yes, but this series has such a large volume.

Ummm, she's annoying as hell? Lol, sounds a bit harsh but she really is.

No offense, but I'm not seeing a difference here. New Clone Wars has gag-inducingly awful "emotional" scenes. Tartavosky's (spelling) series didn't try to be more than it was.
Plus, CAPTAIN FORDO!

Each to his/her own I guess. I don't agree, but I can't really say you're wrong either.

ThumbsUp pure gold Tim

Oh and my answer to the poll question is choice #3 Boba Fett, who all Fringe/Sep/Mando badasses are sad imitations of.

Durge is more of a run-around-hackin'-people-till-I-can't-stand sorta warrior. Not exactly what i would prefer doing my bounty hunting work. Cad Bane on the other hand has to have an IQ of like 125, way up there. Hardly anything surprised him. He is sly and has all his points covered, relying on his skill and technique to get him through the hunt. Durge just relies on anger and brute force. I vote Cad Bane.

+1 an excellent summation. However do you really think they'll kill off Ashoka?

Really??? Its more likely that Rex gets scragged and Ashoka ends up leaving the order to shack up with Lux. Razz

Cad Bane gets my vote.

Durge. He shows up. Fights. Fights. Becomes a Bad *** and tossed into a star.

Cad Bane always comes off as Dr. Claw. He gets beat, jets off, and shakes his fist "Curse you, Skywalker! You beat me this time, but I'll be back!"

Or the evil Dr. Zin.
