Aggressive Negotiations:
This character is considered to have Diplomat until it makes an attack or is targeted by an enemy character. Characters with Ambush, Backlash, or It's a Trap! can ignore this ability for the purpose of attacking this character.

Q: Can targeting by a Treadwell Droid "turn off" Agrressive Negotiations?

Q: Can someting (TW Droid) that does not do damage attack, and thus "turn off" AG?

Until it makes an attack, it is considered to have Diplomat vs all enemies except the stated exceptions.

So, aside from those exceptions, only things that can get around Diplomat can target it. (Indiscriminate, ??)

(Enemy attacks don't matter, unless they target, which happens first)

That was quite an evasive answer, wasn't it.

Treadwell using Targeting, yes. (it targets)

Treadwell attacking, ...eh, I'll need to look that up. I'm having a senior moment.

Edit: nevermind.

you cannot use targetting on a figure with aggressive negotiations (until its switched off or not applicable) because its not an attack (note the wording, "for purposes of attacks").

Characters with "its a trap" can attack it but nothing else.

Thanks for clearing that part up Deri.

Also a classic example of the card being more restrictive than the glossary.

It can if the Treadwell cannot see another enemy without Diplomat. Wink

While the Diplomat provided by Aggresive Negotiation is active, Targetting cannot be used.

However, if you get in a situation where Diplomat is not in effect, you can use Targetting, which will negate Aggressive Negotiations.

Well, I thought It's a Trap and Targetting would work in that situation. Thanks.

Correct me if I'm wrong.

Treadwell Droids can attack. Usually it is useless, because they will do 0 damage even if they hit. However, in this case, they don't need to do damage (or even hit) to turn off Aggressive Negotiations. So the Treadwell could attack, do 0 damage, but turn off Aggressive Negotiations. Then use Targeting since Aggressive Negotiations is turned off. The only restriction would be that they could not move 12 like they usually do. Since they attacked, they could only move 6. Since they're non-melee, they would target just like a shooter when choosing a target.

So while Targeting can't be used while Aggressive Negotiations is active, the Treadwell can turn it off with an attack and then use Targeting the same turn.
