Wow! Woot That looks amazing! You've even managed to keep it gridded! Very nice work! Any chance you could post a "bird's eye" pic showing the entire thing? (Think I see it continuing out in pic4, maybe not).

I am awed... You've created an impressive display, and I imagine that you had to really study the environments in order to have this level of accuracy. Great job.

There is a lot of hard work there. Doing that plaster work is a pain. I especially like your hydraulic door. I know I've spent so much time over the past couple of years building out my gaming board, I haven't even played on it much. How about you? Do you game on your's often.

no I have never really gotten to game on it or make the more modular city sections I had planned. I had even started a Cantina but never got it done enough to show anyone. Thanks for the compliments guys. I do miss making this stuff very much but a job change with commute hasn't helped the last few years. I have made a few asteroids like this...

I used chunks of high density blue foam 1.5 to 2 inch thickness. I carved or broke them apart to a shape I liked. Then I took small needle nose pliers and pulled chucks off of them to make a pocked look. Then you use black spray paint and spray the crap out of them. Normally I don't use spray paint on my terrain unless I coat it good with a brush on paint so you don't melt the foam. But in this case its spray the heck out them and melt away. The propellant causes the foam to melt and develop more little bubbles to give it a tiny pocked mark appearance on the majority of the little asteroid. I then used some grey spray paint to create the main color. I'm sure one could then use a dry-brush method to add even more detail. I just need to make one or two with a little hidden pirate base on the surface or a smuggler hide-out.
