Double claw attack:

"This works just like Double Attack, except that both attacks can be made only against adjacent enemies. A character who has Double Claw Attack can make two attacks against adjacent enemies or a single attack against distant enemies."

What happens if the character stacks 'double claw attack' with 'extra attack' from a CE?

Do they get the option of a third attack against a adjacent or non-adjacent enemy?
If there are three attacks allowed is there a specific order to follow? Can you make your first attack against a non-adjacent and then do two claw attacks against an adjacent? Can you make your first claw attack then make an attack against a non-adjacent and then make a second claw attack?

Also, the wording of this ability is confusing for me as it implies that the character has a choice between two attacks against an adjacent or a single attack against a non-adjacent. I thought that if there is an adjacent enemy that is the only legal target.

It essentially grants Double Attack, but only if the enemies are adjacent. Otherwise, you would only get one attack.

Extra Attack would stack with it. So you could make 2 attacks against non-adjacent enemies or 3 attacks against adjacent enemies. You couldn't do the attacks in the order you said, as you must always attack adjacent enemies over non-adjacent enemies.

Now, if you use 2 attacks to kill adjacent enemies, you would not get to make a third attack on a non-adjacent enemy.

Can you explain why? I'm not entirely clear on this.

So you use your double claw attack to kill the only two adjacent enemies which is legal. Why can you not use the third attack to attack a non-adjacent?

I would think you could since the 'extra attack' does not have the same limitations that 'double claw attack' has.

With just Extra Attack, you are allowed to make 2 attacks. Once no more enemies are adjacent, Double Claw no longer applies. So, you would be down to 2 attacks, which you already made.

And if we are talking about Bossk, TH...

Does he get rend +20 on both subsequent attacks against adjacents or just the first?

Rend only applies to the second attack.
