I also Love Luke Galactic Hero. I'm also a huge fan of Jan Ors, Darth Caedus, and Chief Tarfful.
there is a lot I really want to try from this V-set. I look at every faction and see stuff I'm really interested in trying and thinking of ways to work with. I think everyone got some really really cool tricks to work with. Whether it be all of the cool trooper tricks we have, breaking out my Imperial Knights, Antarian Rangers, Huge Droids, Wookiees.

Favorite has got to be Luke, Galactic Zero.
Worthy mentions out to Watto, Caedus and Wyyrlok III.

Too soon for me to say. Even though I've seen the whole set for 3 months, I'm just now starting to look at what I want to play. ;) There's a whole lot of awesome here, for casual/theme all the way up. Every faction got some fun toys, and Mandos/Vong hopefully got enough new tricks to hang with the rest. Great set.

Hands down Sev'Rance Tann, after years of requesting she is finally in play! And is easily a worthy contender for most useful Separatist yet. Huge droids actually being playable???? Madness! Not anymore perhaps....

Need to play them but on first observation I think rebels did best this set, might not of had the best overall minis but for interaction with each other and with existing rebels i think they did very well. All factions got something nice though so a good set over all. Other have already mentioned note worthy minis such as Sev'Rance Tann, Watto. I do think though that the new Exile is worth mentioning as well.
To early though to see best character but Luke is probably up there near the top. Worst mini Smuggler.

He looks great with Corso Riggs. 2 solid shooters, Smuggler can double twin gma, plus is a pilot and a follower which means he has access to some of great CEs. Throw in original Exile he can triple twin with GMA! I think he looks really fun.

Darth Caedus, Sith Lord is my favorite star wars mini of all mini's made to date. Great job designers on making this guy. He's got everything he needed while not being broken. It's rather fun to pair him with Vergere and give him VCA 6.
Second favorite of this set has to be Kelborn. He has single handedly brought the Mando's into the top tier. He's a great movement breaker for a faction that needed one.

Malgus is probably easily my favorite piece. Why is he so overlooked?

My issue is no "cheap shot" SA to render adjacent victim Activated. :p

I'd go with Admiral Ackbar as he makes combining fire actually viable. God help his enemies if the Rebels get access to a Crack Shot/Gunner character. Marn would be the next favorite. Con Artist can be so much fun. DieAndBeMetal wrote:Malgus is probably easily my favorite piece. Why is he so overlooked? I think it's because of his CE being a bit on the tricky side to use, but he definitely looks to be fun to use with Face your Destiny allowing you to bring your targets to you.

Then I was pointed to Corso Riggs, and now I'm trying to figure out a 200 point squad with Corso Riggs, Bastilla, and two Smugglers. Four GMA, +14 attack, 30 damage shots rules. They'd get really good if you play 250-300 point games - you could fit 2-3 Smugglers with plenty of good support. My favourite is Kelborn.

Here is the squad I thought of, I think it looks pretty fun. --Smuggler's Blues-- 44 Smuggler 36 Atton "Jaq" Rand 33 Bastila Shan, Jedi Master 31 Corso Riggs 27 Lobot 18 Klatooinian Captain 11 Human Bodyguard 2 Speed 8 GMA shooters who can deal out 120 and 80 respectively with ABM on. 1 shooter who can do 80 against adjacent enemies (his slightly lower attack might hurt and ability to get up to 80 may not always trigger) but he can clean up some folks and keeps the Smuggler deadly. Also Corso's protective works on "Smugglers" sadly his Camaraderie only works on an ally named Smuggler. Bodyguard might not be necessary but he is nice to protect Smuggler and Atton and to combine fire with. EmporerDragon wrote:I'd go with Admiral Ackbar as he makes combining fire actually viable. Using him with Rebel Leader for Spotter +20 will work out very very nicely I think.

Also why is the Smuggler not Unique and why is Corso Riggs not OR? Ok they are game characters which i know nothing about. Just seems odd to me after reading up on the characters.
It seems to me that the you need to build your entire team around the NON-UNIQUE smuggler to make him good. all the so called teams i have seen him on have him at the top of the list of characters. Not sure I like that at all, Outside of such teams he is overcosted by about 10 points. He maybe worth 44 point in some teams just disappointed that a non-unique seems to get this much attention.
also i would like to point out that the smuggler might be able to get triple, twin and whatever else was mentioned but so can Cap Rex for a lot less points.

Marn. I've waited a long time for his piece, and his stats do not disappoint. There's about a million ways you could build him, but they found one that really does a good job of representing the character. I put up pictures of the custom I made of him Jan 2, 2005. Will finally get to see play: http://www.bloomilk.com/Forums/default.aspx?g=posts&t=11860&p=2

Just remember, he's a small base. :)

For the Smuggler's cost he is effectively unique, but since he represents a Player Class from a video game I think it makes a lot of sense that he is non-unique. I don't understand the problem of building an entire squad around a non-unique character, especially if it is a fun/good squad. I don't think it is very fair to say they are "so-called teams" when someone builds a squad around a piece you may not like. Captain Rex is the best shooter in the game for his cost and support. But in this case he doesn't have easy access to Evade nor a higher damage output.

I put "so-called teams" because did not know what else to call them. its not like members builds have an official title is it. to be honest far too many members on this board take things far to seriously. I am not going out of my way to insult members here, and know full well that members particularly here on Bloo take things personally. If you have a better phrase to call the builds will happily change it. BTW i was also not saying the squad was no good.
