played with 150 points worth of characters from a faction, like a regular game with a few exceptions.

You and your opponent each decide at the beginning what one mini is your "gladiator."

The idea of this format is to boost up one character to bonus attack and damage levels that you would not see in other games.

1. All other characters in your squad may not do damage, or target your opponents characters. They may however "help" your gladiator by helping him with SA's and CE's.

2. Gladiators may only target, attack, or damage an opponent's gladiator.

3. A non-gladiator ally may on its turn, be defeated, and your gladiator gets half HP of the ally's remaining HP (rounded down)

4. Gladiator's may only be defeated by damage, they cannot be defeated or Betrayed to an opponent's squad.

5. Allies may never move so as to provide cover for your gladiator.

6. CE's may not be surpressed, Bodyguard does not work in this format.

7. Opponent's gladiator defeated: you win!

I don't know, I think I'll be using Russell Crowe! Razz

Jango is a good choice, but I'll go with Galen Marek.

Question: Can we use EPICS?

I like the idea. It's somewhat like making your own Epic characters and having them fight each other.

But I have a question... Isn't the ability to have non-gladiators sacrifice their Hit Points a bit easy to abuse, even if it is only half? The T1 Bulk Loader Droid comes to mind.

I have tinkered with the same idea, and an easy way to fix it is make a requirement be all Unique?

This is a great idea, and also easily abused in some scenarios. I would say some things would have to be banned... I.E. Watto and anything giving savage characters Overwhelming Force.

I would say a short banned list would work.

But I have always wanted something like this. Build up only 1 epic character each, and do battle. Great idea, sounds fun, and I will test this format out for sure with people in my group sometime.
