I am only going to post one custom here for now, more will come later. I just posted a ton of pics over on the WotC site. Darth Dragoth

How do you "Blackwash" to make the storm troopers look like they have lighting detail like that?

water down your black paint. I used a 4:1 ratio of water to black paint. Mix it well, then apply it over the whole figure, especially the recesses.
This, however is not enough. It will make your troopers looks really dark, and their armor will looks grey. After the wash has dried, dry brush white over the entire miniature. When that is done, use black to touch up the figure, painting over any white you got on the gun, the areas under his armor, and possibly a few details on the helmet.

If you are unsure of how to drybrush, I recommend watching a few tutorials on Youtube, and practicing on some junk figures.

I posted something longer on the WotC boards but I like that Sith! I totally agree with your philosophy on Sith looks. It's great you finally put these up!

Thanks Corran!
Yeah I finally decided that I better just buy a digital camera. I had some trouble getting it to focus at first but putting a piece of paper behind the figures really helped.
I probably have hundreds of swminis sitting in my bits box, so you can expect to see some more of my work from time to time.

Will we ever see an actual chainmail-wearing Jedi?

hehe Perhaps - Do you know of any good looking DnD figures who are wearing chainmail? I would use some from the Warhammer Range but they really don't fit in with the SWMinis. Their hands and muscles are waaaaaay to big and unrealistic looking.

Very nice work. I can only imagine what that black wash/dry brush technique would look like on many of the different droid minis.
Keep up the good work!

I gotta say, there are a LOT I like in that newest batch! (not the WotC ones, I've seen those obviously :) ). My favorite is probably the dude with the fedora.

The one with the purple lightsaber? When my player retires the character, I think I am going to change his species to a Khil via greenstuff. Hope you'll still like it A really ambitious project of mine is to represent every species with a custom miniature that wasn't given an official miniature, but was listed in the Saga Edition sourcebooks. I remember seeing a really old thread, either here or at the WotC boards (when I was still a lurker) and it head gungans turned to rakatans or maybe it was gungans turned into Selkath...can't remember. Does anyone remember that thread? Could someone point me in the right direction?

I remember seeing somethign about doing a 360 rotation on the Rebel trooper helmets and turning them into Selkath.

Re-Chainmail: I don't know of any of the top of my head but there has to be at least one.

That would work with some greenstuff...hmm...I need to figure out which species didn't get minis first.
