This is a very basic and elementary rule of the game, but it has recently been brought into question by my play group. If Marka Ragnos moves 6 squares and spends a force point to Lightsaber Assault, and Mace Windu uses Force Absorb, can Marka Ragnos: 1). Use his MOTF 2 and spend another force point to use Lightsaber Assault 2). Make his twin attack as normal 3). Either of the above 4). None of the above

I think he could do 1, but not 2. He replaced his attack to assault--the attack phase is gone. If he spends the second force point, he could assault with twin as usual. However, if he replaces his attack, the assault is absorbed, and he doesn't choose to assault again, he would not be able to make any attacks that turn.

If Lightsaber Assault is absorbed, the Force Point and the "attacks" have already been spent, and you can't replace your attacks more than once per turn. So the correct answer would be 4, and nothing would happen unless you wanted to use Sith Sorcery.

I assumed that the cancellation canceled all aspects of the power, including the replacing of the attack.

If the force power was cancelled then how did he replace his attacks? Why is it selective? I understand its the rules, I just think it is weird.

Force Absorb: (Force; 2 Force points) A character using this Force power cancels the effects of a Force power used by an adjacent character. You must decide whether to use Force Absorb immediately after the other Force power is declared but before it takes effect. That Force power is still considered to have been used that turn, and the affected character still spends the Force points.
That last line has to be there, or Absorb/Defense don't work. If you cancel it, and it still doesn't count as having to have used it, no Force points would be lost, and you would still be able to use Force points, since you wouldn't have counted as actually having spent Force points.

Reading the whole thing really clarifies it. Thanks Sithborg.
