I wanted to jump on the thin ice, but missed it by 5 minutes. Dang.

So if we had a segment on the Sith Holo News Network that was similar the PTI's 5 good minutes, what would you like us to chat about.

Watch the cracks. The ice might break.

Seriously what topics would you like us to chat about?

Playtesting is always a good topic, and might even be relevant to some recent discussions.

Perhaps a brief rundown of famous flame wars on the various SWM boards over the years?

Playtesting is all good, but can we please not talk about the path to becoming a designer? It feels like we have a half hour discussion about it every couple of months - every time someone says "I'd really like to join the design team" it starts off a big long SHNN segment about why you need to start with playtesting and work your way up. It's all fair enough, it just seems like we talk about it lots!

If Kez is on, it would be a good time to talk about some of the sports that the rest of the world play. Razz

"How it's Played" a 5 minute segment summarizing competitive squads past and present.
Name of squad, noted tourney wins, essential pieces, tips and tactics to the squad, relevancy to current game.

I'd like to see some of the basic things covered. Little by little. It'd be great for people just coming to the game.

Such as what. Please be a bit more specific.

What squads do you have in mind? This might be a bit tough with no visuals.

Good idea. I would assume everyone knows the NZ plays. I know that Poland has players. I thnk the UK and France used too, but I am not sure. Would Canada fall into this category as well?

oh, and we don't play Cricket in the Big Ten. :)

SWMiniverse is an excellent podcast for the basics and people who are new to the game. They are very thorough.

Well, I was referring to the ten Test Playing nations in Cricket... it's kind of a Big 10...

Just random things that new people should now. Questions that new players ask. Or mistakes you nee new players make.

When should you go 1st or let your opponent go 1st? Why do so many squads have ugnaughts/r7/Lobot? stuff like that

I like these two. ---- When should you go 1st or let your opponent go 1st? Why do so many squads have ugnaughts/r7/Lobot? stuff like that ----

Do you have any other suggestions? I don't get to play new people that often and since I have been playing since ROTS being new for me was a long, long time ago.

I'd bring up and explain gambit When I was newer I was massively confused about that. Actually, less confused than just compeltely unable to find info on it short of mentions in forum posts. Razz

Sure, We get questions about reinforcements. I don't think new players understand the awesomeness of squad versatility. why you would pick one version of a character over another (with ones like Thrawn where they are both good, not one's where the second choice is crappy) other than that just more game basics that we all know, but they are slowly learning. The benefits of out-activating your opponent. The importance of synergy in larger squads. A quick primer on the most popular squads and why they are popular, how to beat them, how to lose to them would be great too.
