I repainted a few minis a number of years ago to add variety to my display but I made the mistake of using glossy paint.  I would love to redo these minis with appropriate paints. How would you all suggest I go about doing that? Should I strip the paint off somehow and repaint them? Would that hurt the plastic? Or would I just repaint them again? Thanks!

Personally I have painted over 150 star wars minis and never once primed or stripped anything. They are very easy to go over and use acrylic paint and it should cover well. The only thing is if your planning on repainting the imp officers in white uniforms, which is a normal color, you might want to prime in white. Yellow and white are HARD colors to use because the dont cover very well. But I have painted in white and every color in the universe hundreds of times. You should be find with what ever. SWM dont have much detail so I woulden't worry about loosing any.

Why don't you just go over them with a matte or satin clear brush on coat? You can leave the boots and gun shiny.

I've done a few washes but I always thought they just made the mini look "dirty" which is fine if you're going for that "mud planet" look but bad for Leia in her white outfit. Stick to acrylic, you'll be fine.
