So, given regional is coming to a close, I was thinking of a new way to keep playing the game, while still playing new people..... So, I thought I would see how many people would be interested in this idea.
"The Dark Lord of The Sith" Title. Rules for the league (yes it is a league... of sorts)
1. To start the league we have a vassal( or in person) tournament with x amount of people. Not in one day obviously, but hopefully less than a month.
2. The winner claims the mantle of "Dark Lord"on Bloo Milk.
3. as true Sith tradition, anyone may challenge you for the title of Dark Lord, and you have 1 week to get that game in ( or you are assassinated, and they obtain the title)
4. You may not challenge for the title if you just lost it, or if you lost a fight for it.
5. You don't have to play on vassal, but the challenge must be made public.
6. You may not use the same faction twice in a row.
7. No money will be used at all, as this will all be fun.
8. The games must be 200 point construction.
9. If 2 people submit a challenge relatively close to the same time, they must play each other for the right to play.
10. And finally, the winner of all games must write a play report of some sort.
The runner up of the tournament will be appointed Sith Apprentice. And these rules apply to that person as well.
This just seems like it could be fun. So, anyone interested do so through here or Bloo Mail me. Any suggestions to make this better is as always greatly appreciated!!

That looks like a lot of fun! Kind of like "King of the Hill" or "Kill the Carrier." I also like the restriction on faction choices during the open rounds.
Question: if you are the current DKotS, how many games will you be required to play per week? Yes, you have 1 week to get your game in, but if 4 people challenge you (one per day) then do you have to play 4 games, or can you say, "Sorry, I've already got a challenger this week"? I know that Rule #9 partially addresses this issue, but I think you need to get more specific than "relatively close to the same time." Regardless, sign me up!

Is the limitation on #3 supposed to be "just" for both, as in you just lost the mantle or just lost a fight for it?
Cause if you lose a fight for it and can't ever challenge again... the Dark Lord pool would get pretty small quick, lol.

Answers.
I would say the current DLOTS would only be "required" to play once a week. But not restricted to only once. They obviously would not have to play if no one challenged, and under certain circumstances, would be allowed to miss a week due to personal reasons.
The limitation for number 3 is just for the next challenge, i.e.... You lose this week, you can not re-challenge until someone else has had a chance.
Also, after some more thought, I would think creating a "dark council" of say 5 or 6 would be needed.
And the order would go as follows...
The DLOTS is inclined to accept challenges from the "Dark Council" and the "Sith Apprentice". With the Sith Apprentice being the first in line if 2 challenge at the same time. Only people on the "Dark Council" could challenge for "Sith Apprentice", but anyone could challenge for the right to be on the "Dark Council". That could clear up some issues with challenges and waiting for matches?

Hmm. Intreesting idea. I dont know if I could donate enough time to play regularly but i'd certainly be an avid watcher. I am trying desperately to get back into my mini's. Since I moved I have not been able to find anyone to play and despite reading a dozen 'How to' i just cannot get vassal to work properly. But I digress, yes the idea is sound. I dont know if you need a 'council' as such but simply a ranking system where by you can only challenge someone within 2 places above or 1 below, so...

In this simple example, if we take 1 as the current DLotS then 3 could challenge but 4 could not, 1 can only challenge 2 but can accept from 3. A win by killing everything would see you gain 5 points, 3 for an attrition win and 1 for loosing but on attrition. I think thats easy enough to follow. By this method, the DLotS could loose his title by not fighting enough games. It also stops 1 from beating on number 8 all the time.
Set a maximum of 3 fights a week per player and let the game commence would be my suggestion, however, im just a keen spectator at this point so feel free to ignore my humble suggestions.

Ok... So you don't have to sign up now to be in the "league" But I would like to start sign ups for the initial tournament.
So lets say max of 16 (tho I doubt that many will do it) And minumum of 8.
Once we get 8 (or more) we will discuss a time table to do this? And again, you don't HAVE to play on vassal. If we can schedule more games for people to play in person by all means, lets do that. But, without further ado.
