Does it have to equal exactly 100 points between the two characters? Can it equal 99 or 98 and so forth?

Dynamic Duo is a special format, and requires the two figures to cost exactly 100.

I just read it again and it does specify it has to. Although it seems unnecessarily strict. Any two characters would seem more appropriate regardless of point total. I have never played this format. Can someone shed any light on why it is so important for the total to equal exactly 100 points? It seems to me that I could put together a few teams that would equal just below 100 point that would be better than many 100 point combinations.

I think that was part of the reason, actually. When it first started there was a dominant pair for slightly less than 100 pts, so there was no reason to play anything else. Making it exactly 100 made the game more wide open. Sorry - I don't know what that dominant pair was.

That would make sense. It had to be a very powerful pair. If that was it, I would rather see just that team not allowed. Similar to BFBH's disintegration not being allowed in the traditional 100 point game. I also wonder why BFBH is not allowed in this format?

It's because Disintegration would be a game-changer. You have only two characters, and then one is disintegrated? -- that pretty much can end the game, especially if it happens early on, at range.

BFBH is allowed but disintegration is turned off.

This site says that BFBH is not allowed for dynamic duo, but according to the rules, BFBH is allowed for a 100 point match with disintegration turned off. Can anyone shed any light on this? It seems to me that Dynamic Duo could just allow BFBH and have disintegration turned off like a "normal" 100 point match.

I never noticed that - the site is outdated. BFBH is allowed, but Disintegration is turned off for Dynamic Duo.

Ahhh. Thanks for clarifying. I guess the next step is to see all the dynamic duo teams in the list that contain BFBH.

Wow, I overlooked it as well. I'll have to ask Shinja to fix that.

Probably Aurra Sing and Boba, BH.

That only equals 99.

Yes, but the talk was about an overly dominant squad that was just under 100 points early in the creation of the format that necessitated the rule that the squad would have to be 100 exactly.

Ahhh. Are you saying that they made the rule that dynamic duo had to be exactly 100 points just so that you could not put BFBH together with Aurra Sing?
