Echo24 wrote:Galactic Funk wrote:I just noticed the Kyp Duron Jedi Master CE says "Pilot allies get +3 attack and -3 defense". I figured it was a typo but the character page here shows it the same way. So is it indeed a misprint or is Kyp trying to get his friends killed easier? He leads all the other pilots to be very aggressive and not worry about defense. That's the kind of leader he was, just ask his Dozen-and-Two Avengers. So the first time I read Kyp's CE I missed the "-3 defense" thinking it was +3. As Echo says in the quotes above it is indeed very fitting for his character. That being said what do people think about his potential for pilot squads? Obviously you can work in the new Chewie with Han GH to get Han up to a +17 which makes him more deadly. Anakin GH synergizes very well w/ Kyp allowing him to get renewal. You can work in Dash for a not entirely horrible +13 attack. Ganner and Dodonna still need to be mainstays I think. Winter isn't too terribly appealing to me but I suppose she could be solid with Han or Anakin. Anyone see any other big possibilities in there?

Corran is great but I think he's much better getting GMA from Luke. Corran has a base 14 attack, 18 w/ opportunist so he doesn't need an attack boost like Han or pretty much any other pilot. Kyp basically gives them the similar attack boost that Jagged gives in a beatstjck package. The trade-off being the defense negative and Corran certainly doesn't need to be spending force on anymore absorbs than he needs to.

What about the Rogue Squadron Rookie in a Kyp/Dash/Jag build? Spotter +10 helps Dash and Kyp, if you're able to combine fire on lightsaber throw. He can get up to 12 attack, so he's also useful for clearing fodder or putting extra damage on bigger pieces. All for 6 points.

I remember the dreaded Garindan + Darth Bane Lightsaber Throw from the CotF/Bounty Hunters days.

I think Weeks nailed it here: http://www.bloomilk.com/Squad/132274/kypI don't think there's a better Kyp squad out there at this point.

Alright I think we can just go ahead and lock the thread now because I'm not sure that one can be topped.
