Both sides can get into gambit with pretty good protection, but if you try to invade the opponent's side of the map, there are long lines of sight for shooters. The right side has better protection for commanders inside the ship. Left side is more susceptible to deep strikes, but that's dependent on the opponent having really strong movement breakers. Played on this map against Double Lancer and I was on the left. I picked the map just because we hadn't played on it in a long time, so my opponent picked side. I shouldn't have picked this map - if my opponent picked it I could have set up on the right, which would have been better for me. On the left, there are only 2 strafe-safe squares in the starting zone. The right has 7.
