If I give Leia of Hoth mettle from Obi wan's ghost, and I spend a force point to re-roll for a non-unique ally to come back to life with full hit points, I would only need to roll a 12, correct?

I believe it's the ally who just died that makes the save, so Obi ghost would've had to have given mettle to the dead ally, assuming it had a force rating. Leia doesn't make the save, but yeah you'd need a 12

It is the character dieing that makes the save, not Leia. However, if they had Mettle, yes, it would mean they only need to roll 12 or higher to make her CE.

Getting Mettle to an ally for Hoth Leia's CE would be a little bit tricky, but you could pull it off with Anakin Skywalker, Force Spirit and either Yoda of Dagobah or Yoda, Force Spirit as a force battery. But then the non-uniques with a force rating are pretty limited... making Felucians on Rancors come back to life is pretty nasty, though.

You read my mind. The problem is that the rebel spirits give force renewal to uniques and hoth Leia brings non-uniques back to life. This is the opposite of synergistic. I originally wanted to bring ERC's back to life, but I think the felucian rancor is a better option.

Yes - it's a fun idea, but not generally worth the points.
