If Cad Bane is within 6 of R2-D2 Astro droid, does R2 count as an ally within 6 for Cad to receive GOWK's +4 attack and +4 defense?

If GOWK is in your squad, as are Cad and R2, Cad would benefit from GOWK's CE if any ally (including a Droid) is within 6 squares. R2 helps Cad meet the requirement for the CE. R2 would not get the +4/+4 as being a Droid prevents him from being subject to CEs (in most cases).

That's what I thought. "In most cases"? I would imagine there is some v-card that sometimes allows a droid to receive a CE? Unless you are referring to some of the separatist CE's.

No, but there are a multitude of CE's that specify they apply to droids.
